Hey, I'm bringing it back at least one more time. I honestly am tired of being theo ne doing this and getting my head bitten off for posting pictures. So, if anyone wants to take it on after this, you have my blessing.

With that said, I figure I owed this forum one more and am going to mix popular grunge and alternative sounds that got really famous in the 1990s (though some date back to the '80s). They're not all the same genre, but they are def. related. So, without pictures here we go;

PEARL JAM

NIRVANA

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

ALICE IN CHAINS

SMASHING PUMPKINS

i never cared for any of the 90's grunge stuff. im sure if i were to like any of them, it'd be nirvana, so....

I have all but one of Pearl Jam's studio albums.

The only band on that list I like is Alice in Chains.

Nirvana. They're the only band out of those 5 not putting out complete **** music after a long stretch of good material.

PJ all the way...though, those are all very good to great bands.

I'm more of an 80's child, and i never really got into grunge.... but i'll give my vote to Nirvana.

I can create the next "Battle of the Bands Threads".

I have got some ideas for the next "Battle of the Bands", below.

Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Pioneers:

Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath
Deep Purple
AC/DC

70's Glam Rock Artists:

Alice Cooper (before Alice went solo)
David Bowie (early days when it used to be a band)
Kiss (70's material before Ace Frehley left)
T.Rex

zeppelin and bowie will win those. they're good ideas, but the winners are foregone conclusion, which doesnt make it too terribly interesting. im trying to think of some myself, but its actually kind of hard. i was thinking of doing one about who did the best version of "louie louie" ha ha. theres thousands of choices to choose from, ha.

^^^I totally agree about Led Zeppelin winning.

As for the Glam Rock artists, I prefer Alice Cooper over David Bowie.

Chili Peppers...

for me personally, the glam rockers would be a tough choice between bowie and t. rex. bowie has the stronger catalogue over all. but damn, electric warrior and slider are incredible achievements on t. rex's behalf.

it would make things far more interesting and cooler if we went a little more underground with the polls....but i dont think many people here are interested in music enough to be voting in polls including bands like the sonics, the equals, or the flamin' groovies and such.

Go for it. Though one of mine was kind of similar to your first suggestion.

I might make one LAST one that puts all the winners from my threads, but if it isn't up by Tuesday, it's all your's.

am i allowed to nitpick about lumping zeppelin in under hard rock and/or heavy metal, since its such an inappropriate labeling of their music? hard rock/metal was merely a fraction of the type of music they created.

Sure. I put 'em with Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd and some others, I believe.

Gotta go with RHCP on this one. I'm feeling more of their stuff.

Alice In Chains. I lost a ton of respect for RHCP when I learned of their vendetta against Mike Patton and Faith No More.

RHCP. I like all their albums, even through the style changes.
