I'm kinda suprised no one's done this yet.

The Pilot, Exile, Crusade, Arrival, Bizarro, in no particular order.

1. Pilot
2. Crusade
3. Exile
4. Odyssey
5. Savior
6. Lazarus
7. Bizarro
8. Zod
9. Vortex
10. Arrival

Bizarro easily.

It felt like an actual Superman story. It had an epic setup from the finale. It had some great fights, great dialogue, Lana only had a small cameo, great DC villain (Bizarro), great use of Lex, great intro of Kara, and the Clark/Martian Manhunter scenes were well done too.

Overall, it was the most solid of them all IMO. And I think it was the first time the standard 'Red Blue Blur' theme music was used, in the final fight:

I was going to ask this question earlier in the Lazarus thread. But I would rank them:

1: Pilot (it started it all)
2: Crusade (Clark flies. Nuff said)
3: Exile (Red K Clark!)
4: Arrival (Intro to the Fortress )
5: Savior (Black Suit was cool)
6: Vortex
7: Lazarus (Good but seemed a little lacking)
8: Bizarro
9: Odyssey
10: Zod

1. Pilot
2. Crusade
3. Exile
4. Odyssey
5. Savior
6. Lazarus
7. Bizarro
8. Zod
9. Vortex
10. Arrival

I agree with this list.

The thing that bugged me about 'Bizarro' was how Clark just ran away after he punched Bizarro into the power lines. Yeah, he went and saved the little boy and his dad by the lake after an incredibly lame knockout, but why didn't he go back to look for Bizarro? "Ehh, I'll just leave an insane version of myself with all my powers alone for the majority of this episode and hope for the best." Other than that huge gripe from me, it was a very excellent episode.

Pilot's number one in my book. Hard to beat that one, so good on so many levels.

After watching the Pilot recently after years of not seeing it, I really forgot how great it was. I don't think I can vote fairly since I've only really seen most of these episodes once.

When it comes out on Blu Ray (hopefully a box set) I'm definitely going back and rewatching all the episodes.

Yea it was so great at introducing everything, which is not bad considering the show has gone on for 10 years.

I didn't count the "Pilot," but if I did.. it would be #1.

Though my favorite version of the Pilot is the unaired version. It's so epic. It has theatrical scores used instead of the usual drab instrumental music on SV. Makes it seem like a movie.

Even the score from Unbreakable is used during the scene between Lex and Clark, it's so chilling.

I still pick the Pilot.

No lie, it's probably the best Pilot episode I've ever seen from any TV show. (And I've seen a lot of those.)

It did such a good job of laying an excellent framework and introducing all of the major complications between the characters...

Awesome, no one has done it better.

As much as I adore Spartacus, for example, it's first episode wasn't all that great. It laid a good foundation for a series, and it did it very well, but there were so many flaws.

I think Smallville's Pilot was pretty close to perfect.

1. Pilot - I thought it was a great opening episode to start the series

2. Crusade - Being a Lois fan wins brownie points from me, I think Lois brought a nice light hearted
feeling the show seriously lacks at times into this episode

3. Bizarro - rated highly mainly due to cool fight scene

4. Vortex - simpler many times is better

5. Lazarus - will have to watch rest of season to see how I like premiere, very good so far

*gap*

6. Odyssey - good but nothing great

7. Zod - entertaining enough

8. Savior - a little dark but still ok, not enough Clark

*gap*

9. Arrival - waste of introduction of FOS, and I hated some of the storylines this one set up which brings it down a few notches

*huge gap*

10. Exile - hate this episode with a passion, Clark hates his life and does something stupid. Gets more annoying after watching Clark have the same pattern throughout the series. Another episode that started many plotlines I hate(mainly the whole Jonathon heart problems one and Clark having issues with everybody on the show) although even if those plotlines didn't happen I would still hate this episode

pilot was done really well and there were so many nice touches to crusade, clark, sorry, kal-el flying :cwink:

My ranking:

Pilot
Exile
Crusade
Vortex
Lazarus
Savior
Bizarro
Arrival
Odyssey
Zod

I think my favourite is probably the Zod premiere. Has one of my favourite shots from the entier series, when Clark escapes the Phantom Zone, is hurled towards earth & then walks out of the crater & goes off to find Lex/Zod.. or Lod or Zex if you will.

Good fight as well, with a very nostalgic moment when Clark kneels only to trick him.. just like Superman II.

hmm i dont know where i would place all the premeires.

I hated that fight. Zod was just too powerful for Clark at the time and he really kicked his ass. Clark maybe punched him once. Although the episode does have one of my favorite lines, "My father sends his regards" or something like that.

I agree, the fight in Zod was more like Zod kicking Clark's butt. Though I did like when he returned from the Phantom Zone and his line about his father.

As for Bizarro, I think the fight they had in Phantom was much more epic since Clark only hit him twice in Bizarro and both punches sent him flying.

Yeah, the Bizarro fight was much better. And the fight between Clark and Alia (or whatever her name was) in Savior was pretty good. Clark didn't fight anyone in Lazarus unless you count him choking the Lex clone.

One problem I had with Zod was (while not as bad as other Clark screws up moments) the whole Clark not listening to Jor-El causing Phantoms to escape thing. Just another case of the writers making Clark look bad and responsible for all the worlds bad stuff.

I am a bit more forgiving though to the phantom thing because that was one of the better plotlines of S6(abiet to many times it just felt liek a secondary story to Clexana) for Clark Kent, just the method they released them was a little questionable.

The fight with Alia made me laugh out loud. How she killed herself with her own weapon was so corny and then she suddenly went 180 into 'I'm sorry' mode.

I found another clip of the last fight in Bizarro. It WAS actually the first time the overused Red/Blue Blur music theme was used:

Again, I liked "Bizarro" so much because it was the only premiere (besides the Pilot) that actually felt like a Superman adventure, like something right out of the comics or cartoons.

The other premieres IMO felt more like Smallville-centric premieres but didn't feel much like Superman.

It's sort of ironic that such a crappy season had such a good premiere

S7 wasn't one of my favourites, either. But eps like the premiere and Descent made it memorable.
