Why Are You Crouching Spock? said:Well yea, thats why I never brought it into the arguement at any point. I was clearly talking about the mac. You seem to be taking it as a PC VS Console argument though, no idea why. Well, lets say it is then, why would you pay £1000 for a Mac, that supports very few games and a £200 console, right? When you can pay £400 for a equally or more powerful pc that supports all games and a £200 console? Where is the logic? There is none. It's a fanboy reply.
The logic, dear boy, has just been ignored by you completely. You point would make sense, if it was directed at somebody who has not purchased anything and is weighing up what to do. My point, which you ignored, was at this point, everyone has already decided on a computer. Everyone in this thread obviously already has a computer, either PC or Mac, and/or a console. If whatever platform they have already chosen doesn't allow them to experience the Battlefield 3 computer version in it's proper form, then the cost isn't worth it if that game is the only reason they would want one.
Why Are You Crouching Spock? said:Thats completely subjective and you could factually argue otherwise.
Hell, the post above was basically "i want my game to look like this".
And for someone who doesn't want to turn this into a console vs Computer thing, you're certainly going about it strangely if you're going to suggest there is factual potential to argue console isn't as enjoyable as computer gaming.
Why Are You Crouching Spock? said:Just because you might buy it for Zelda doesn't mean you can buy older or newer games for the platform. I agree though, I would never buy any platform based on a hyped game, I done that a few years back with Metal Gear Solid 2 as I enjoyed the first one. The game was terrible imo.
This was exactly my point. Everyone here has already made up their mind on what platform they wish to game. That's all Pat means and all he's ever meant when he weighs up the pro's and cons of console vs PC, in that it would be too expensive to go to PC (or Mac) after you're already on console.
Sure there are plenty of other titles that are good for computer gaming, but if someone hasn't felt the need to buy whatever they need for computer gaming prior to Battlefield 3, then you can assume that's the only game they're interested in, in which case it isn't worth it.
Anyway, I think console looks good enough for me. The thing I would love to try on computer would simply be the 64 players. I could see that being crazily intense. I'd love to see that on Karg Island.

But I guess not playing games is a fair trade when you don't have to deal with drivers and the rest of the BS that comes with Windows hahah.
