Batwoman BATWOMAN News & Discussion Thread

Batwoman being cancelled was something we saw coming. They likely picked up Gotham Knights.

Gotham Knights hasn't even been cast except for one person. This is rotten for Batwoman.

And even if it wasn't pretty far in development, the mere fact it was in development was a bad sign for this show.

Yup, not a huge surprise...but sure a hit especially with LOT also being cancelled, sad day for the LGBT community that was hanging onto those shows.

I dont know if Gotham Knights manages more than 3 seasons, but we will see.

As mentioned… The WB half of the CW seemed to be able to parlay their (relatively) low rated programs into lucrative secondary sales (syndication, foreign, streaming, etc.). However, the new CW owners wouldn’t have this proprietary advantage. So we could be witnessing a “DC purge.”

Superman & Lois
— still a strong performer — might be the last to go (or migrate to HBO Max); rumor has it that The Flash will end after a (short) season nine; the fates of Stargirl and Naomi are TBA; and Batwoman and LoT are already gone. So it is kinda surprising that Gotham Knights was even given a pilot order. And the chances of it being picked up are probably improved now that Batwoman (existing in a different — and therefore confusing? — continuity) has been cancelled.

TheCW doesn't have new owners, Discovery taking over is the new owner of WB side. When they stopped doing business w/Netflix it really hurt shows going forward as Netflix would ask for X amount of episodes and their streaming game was more on point.

I struggled through season 2 but didn't bother at all with 3. Which is a shame, as season 1 was far better than 2 and it's earthquake sized shake-up. Sounding like an old record here, but all they had to do was recast one character. That was it!
Oh well, maybe fortune will shine and it will be redone later on, completely comic-accurate!
