The Blue x-men

They are two of the more loved x-men from the comics, their mutation changed their normal aspect, they aren't like the rest, they are more monsters than humans, both are physical characters, good fighters.... and they are the two blue members of the team.

Kurt appeared in X2 and Hank in X3.

- Which do you think was better handled?....

- who was more achieved? in term of look, make up, development, dialogue, personality...

And apart from the poll, what would have you liked to see from them?... anything in special?.... any reference, certain scene or dialogue....

Which one is more achieved? Nightcrawler because there's more to achieve. He's harder to sell than Beast. There's more to the character--the look, the accent, the powers, the sound effects, etc. They are all very well done. Nightcrawler's scenes are more memorable too. Kelsey Grammer is fine as Beast, but, aside from the casting, nothing else really stands out.

Obviously, the only thing that Ratner achieved with Beast was a plush teddy bear that danced like a puppet on strings.

Nightcrawler had much better action and was far better anything Ratner could hope to achieve. Jeez, no comparison. X3 sucked.

I did think Beast was the only good thing to come of X3 besides some fight scenes. But Nightcrawler was perfect. They brought my fav. X-Men to life.

Beast was one of the few goods thing in X-Men 3, but they got my favorite X-Man down perfectly.

While Beast was on of the best things about the Last Stand. (Well one of the only good things). Nightcrawler was one of the best things about X2 which was a thousand times better than the last stand.

I wish he had been in the third movie. If for nothing else, perhaps his fight scenes in the end would have been rea....oh wait, I just remembered he isn't wolverine. He still would have had nothing to do.

Nightcrawler is awesome.

omg i love clarissa...

yeah definitely nc! beast was like the best part of a crappy movie but nc was a great part of an even greater movie. but yeah im gonna say nc got way more developed which is why he was better.

I voted Kurt, because I think he had a good development, and good scenes, showing some sides of the character.

Firstly, the first scene: WOW, what an impressive introduction, and what a nice action scene. Beast didn't do anything that great in X3.... well, he almost didn't do anything, in term of action.

And then, his scenes with Storm and Jean, with Rogue.... I liked his scenes so much, they had something special.

About his look, I think they did a better job with Kurt than with Beast. When I saw the first Beast pomo pic I was really disapointed.

And I think Beast should have had certain moments in X3, like a scene of him alone showing his own conlict with the cure, and then a little moment in the infirmary, showing his cientific side (they forgot that totally).

Nightcrawler was better achieved because he had a great solo action sequence and a great character moment on the jet (convo with Storm). Beast didn't have similar moments. But I'm not sure the dynamic events of X3 would lend themselves to lots of small character scenes - it was supposed to be urgent and kinetic.

it was supposed to be the best of trilogy, but with that urgengy..... what a piece of crap they did, hahaha.

Well, what did Brett.

Nightcrawler of course....Beast looked great in X3 but was not memorable like NC

I think they didn't justice to Hank.

I was hoping to see him in a laboratory, and saying one or two famous quotations.

I don't mind about the action at all, I wanted better scenes than better action.

nightcrawler purely because his arc is harder to do and they only showed a glimpse of it and never really showed his struggle with his mutation

Nightcrawler over Beast. Nice try tho.

I liked both characters equally, and thought their looks were translated very well to the big screen. Nightcrawler had a couple more stand-out scenes though.

Nightcrawler. He was a fabulous character with a lot of depth and development, great action, great casting, and a great look. I thought the religious aspect was well-played, too. It's easy for secular movies to treat religious characters like they're crazy, but he came across as wise, compassionate, and morally just. He even seemed to plant a seed of faith in Storm. I really liked their relationship.

Kelsey Grammar's Beast makes me think about how amazing X3 could have been, and then I die a little bit more on the inside. Both were executed fantastically but Nightcrawler has the benefit of a much better creative team and movie to hold him up. Plus he's my favorite of the X-Men.

Well now that it's been two years, I have concluded with the following: Beast looked cheesy and ridiculous in the film. Yes his role was quite good and Kelsey gave a good performance, but the bright, cartoonish blue fur just looked utterly comical on the character. They definatly should've gone with a grayish/muted blue color scheme on the fur. The costume itself was a bit of a letdown since it just looked rushed. Hair ending in certain places, ect. I would've liked something that gave him a more muscular and simian appearence and had a more grayish tone to it. The bright blue fur just doesn't work in a live action film.

I still think Beast looks great, one of the best things about X3 imo.

Whether he was blue or grey or whatever, it would still require suspension of disbelief, just like the Things's suit, Hulk's CGI or Hellboy's prosthetics. The character just needed a few more moments like Nightcrawler had in X2 - a solo power display and a proper emotion/character moment.

I don't know. I didn't particulary like Beast's looks but I didn't hate 'em either.

What I hated was that he was in congress of whatever. Last time (X2) people were still afraid of mutants and hated them and now on the 'em is running around in a fcking congress sitting down next to the president! What. The. ****?

Beast reminds me of those creepy singing animatronics.

Well, time had moved on. And at the end of X2, the president did change his mind on his anti-mutant speech and instead ask for more careful reflection on the issue.

Storm even remarks upon it 'Magnet's a fugitive, we've got a president who understands us, a mutant in the cabinet.'

Beast's position in the cabinet meant us having a link to the government, to seeing the goverment's position/reaction. Without Beast being in that position, the president and Trask would have been unconnected individuals with no link to others in the story.
