Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake are set to headline Runner Runner for New Regency, Variety reports. Details are currently few are on the film's plot, but the project is said to be a thriller involving online gambling.

Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) will direct the project, which features a script from Brian Koppelman and David Levien, who previously dealt with gambling in both Rounders and Ocean's Thirteen.

Timberlake appeared last year in Bad Teacher, In Time and Friends with Benefits. He's currently shooting Trouble with the Curve for Clint Eastwood and Inside Llewyn Davis for the Coen brothers.

Affleck, meanwhile, last appeared in The Town, which he directed. His next project as a director/actor is Warner Bros.' Argo, set for release this fall.

Producers on Runner Runner include Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher and Scott Steindorff.

There's some good talent involved here, looking forward to keeping an eye on this one.

I am pleasantly surprised by Timberlake's acting ability, I hope he comes out with another album though

I think it looks pretty good.

Why haven't I heard about this before?

Awesome seeing Timberlake in another film. I still can't believe the arc he went through, "hahaha boy band member!" "whaa, gangster?! One of the best actors in it? Wow!" "Fincher! 100% awesome! Legit." Has anyone else had a path like that? (Will Smith wouldn't count since he was always seen as cool, talking going from guys making fun of him like they Justin Bieber now and then going a complete reversal).

They have my attention.

Mmmmmmm I wanna play Miss Arterton. :hrt:

I actually am looking forward to this one. It looks like Affleck's going back to his Boiler Room role for inspiration. I loved him in that film, so it'll be nice to see him playing a character like this again.

So...Ben's probably getting no questions about Runner Runner. :o

The trailers don't look that promising (basically interesting, but not at the top of the list), but I think that might just be the marketing department. Ben doesn't seem like he'd risk his career at this point and he definitely doesn't need the money. So it sounds like its a project that he believes in in some form. Probably the script. Which in turn, makes me excited.

So, does this mean Timberlake is a grown up Kevin McCallister?
