I'm onboard with Affleck and will give him a chance but will always take a wait and see approach. He has my support because it 'tis what it 'tis.

Though, in my mind, BA and HC look great together standing next to each other so hopefully if all else is a concern, let that be a good reality.

This is the first time we've agreed I think.

You and I coming together in a positive way on Ben's casting - that has to be a good omen!

the fanboy reaction to this is both hilarious and pathetic

all this backlash is giving the movie loads of free publicity

Many people few Affleck as a bad actor, and that's what I find so funny.

Same thing had happened years earlier with Michael Keaton, did it not? People petitioned (like they're doing now) and wrote hate mail to the studio in order to have the role recasted.

It didn't work and look what happened, Keaton OWNED the role.

When people focus on the bad movies he's been in, they should also focus on the GOOD movies he's been in:

-Dazed and Confused
-Mallrats
-Chasing Amy
-Going All The Way
-Good Will Hunting
-Shakespeare in Love
-Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
-Sum of All Fears
-Hollywoodland
-Phantoms

Sigh, fanboys are all the same.

By the way, for those hating on Daredevil, PLEASE watch the Director's Cut.

More than half of those movies are bad (though some of them are admittedly guilty pleasures), and he wasn't that good in most of what's left. The one exception being Hollywoodland which I will acknowledge is probably his greatest performance, although the irony in that is quite amusing.

Yeah, for as much ****ting on Affleck as there is, ALL of those people are seeing this when it comes out, no question.

Good Fan Manip

Really cool!

I know I'm stating the obvious but Affleck must think this is pretty good if he signed on.

Dunno if the script is finished yet, but I think Ben has been creative input as part of the deal to get him on board. He is a huge Batman fan and he's going to want to make sure this film rocks so its all good.

Guys, guys... Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms.

to this day i still think kilmer was the best batman. no joke. not me trillin. he depicted the batman of the 80's and 90's. he and that chick who couldn't figure out how to keep her shirt closed were the best parts of batman forever

agreed best overall. bale was the best bruce, keaton the best batman, but kilmer aced both parts.

Kilmer is underrated overall, I'm a big fan of him.

Whenever I think of him as Batman my mind immediately goes to the scene where he suddenly has this GIANT lisp when asking if Nicole Kidman likes the circus.

I find it funny that Affleck gets a lot of praise for films such as the Town and Argo(which won an academy award) and now he gets cast as Batman BAM! The people criticizing this mainly bring up films like Pearl Harbor, Gigli, and Daredevil. All which have come out a decade ago and Daredevil not even really being his fault.

temporarly, that will change. You can start any story line with the love interesting being the True Love in the beginning of any story line

Do we know that the Superman/WW romance in the New 52 is only temporary?

If Ben has creative input I can sure se them going there. I think they might have anyway.

Ben and Amy are like 2 years apart in age too. If Batman is a seasoned crime-fighter in the film I can see where Lois has had contact with him and may even have a thing going for him. I think the film will put out another love interest for Lois besides Superman and, if not Bruce, then Lex. Though I really want a Bruce/Lois romance. It'd be cool to see Clark drop in on Lois and there, having a candlelight dinner with her, is Bruce. To die for!

I think this may be the second thing we have agreed on, lol. Nonetheless, differing on opinion isn't always a bad thing, though, you and the term "positive" don't necc go hand in hand, but it's a good first step! Haha.:word:

Even though Affleck was never my favorite actor, or 10th, this is the time for him to gain a solid fan and I'm giving him every bit of that chance:up:

That's because people are giving him praise in those movies as a director and as a writer, not as an actor. Hell, I'd be superexcited for a new Batman series directed and written by Affleck. Starring him? No thank you.
