I'm not saying what he did to Metropolis he did purposely. What you're saying above poses a very good argument for the film: there will be those who see him as a reckless alien who should own up to his actions and others who believe he had no choice in the matter and had to defeat Zod no matter what the circumstance. Clearly Batman will stand for the former, and thus we have a central conflict

I'm all for that being the reason batman is angry and wants to take him down. All I'm saying is it's obnoxious and silly when people presume that the drastic action Clark took in the climax of MOS were just for the hell of it and that he didn't feel remorse.
