I was just on about how that particular comment occurs a lot of times in general among the other knee jerk reactions to stuff like this. Happened with the release of Ledger's Joker photos, Leto's Joker look, Ben Affleck etc...
I---I have no idea how your post ended up in mine. I swear it was quoting someone else when I hit post. :funny:

I've since edited it.

Is your point then, "even if it's the wrong and premature, the other guys did it first so we're doing it too"?

What is the ''we'' thing? I'm the one collecting and I ain't sharing the profit, ya dig?

The best we can expect from Ben Affleck is a groundbreaking, iconic performance.

The absolute worst would just be a decent one.

Thats because its a comic cover by David Finch. Someone just maniped the bvs bat logo over the one in the original drawing.

The worst case scenario is that Ben is so good that all of WB's attention goes to the new Batman franchise, all other films not Batman are canceled and Batman clones himself 6 times creating the Bat Justice League.

There simply is no alternate universe where Ben isn't a great Batman. I'm from the future, trust me.

It's bit strange they're still not confirming the new Batman solo series. Everyone's pussyfooting around the subject.

I was one of the few who wasn't convinced Ben would helm, but there are so many strong hints it's going to happen. Just no official claim.

Hey, it's impossible to also "know" that he'll be horrible in the role but it doesn't stop anyone from saying it. (Not singling you out there... I don't remember if you're pro-Ben or anti-Ben; just saying that a lot of people declared it a failure the MOMENT the casting was announced).

I know what you're saying. Im not pro-Ben, or anti-Ben in this role. Not yet, because i haven't seen him act in a full scene yet, as Bruce or Bats. I think everybody should walk into the theater, at the very least, a little skeptical. Too much excitement towards "Ben WILL BE THE BEST" will either disappoint you when you see it, or it will cloud your judgment. And walking in with hatred of Affleck or "he wont be good, guaranteed"...it's just as bad.

So a definitive statement like "Ben IS the Batman", 4 months before the release date. Yeah, it's a little silly.

It's no different than looking at Jared Leto in costume/makeup (i dont like his look) and saying "That's not Joker, because of those tattoo's, he'll never be the best Joker". What about his acting throughout the film? What about the writing of the character and how it plays out? It could be phenomenal.

I'd really like to see more of his Bruce Wayne in this coming trailer. So far, I'm pleasantly surprised with what I've seen of him. Nothing really spells catastrophe for me so far with Ben Affleck as Bruce and Batman. I think he'll be fine.

You wanted Hamm or Brolin over Affleck. I read yo initial response. Both good choices to me tho. I was in the Hamm camp.

Me too. More Bruce please! More of him SPEAKING as Bruce, and show it, don't do voiceover.

That was then. I was shocked by it, like everyone else. I wasn't much of a Affleck fan. I am a little more now that i've seen Gone Girl and The Town. But im still skeptical of him in every role because he has a tendency to overact, or be wooden when it calls for a little more. I wanted Hamm for Bruce, but quickly realized he couldn't be Batman. Brolin is still my number one choice, but perhaps he wouldn't mesh with all of these movies, scheduling, etc.

A lot of people wanted Hamm including myself, no one knew that Ben had already been cast.

Singularly, I still think Hamm is the better choice for the part. But Ben has single-handedly changed the creative direction of the entire DCEU and that's more important in the long run.

Plus Ben has nicely filled out the suit anyway, so at least physically he's quite unparalleled.

Hm. It just dawned on me that we've only seen him speak briefly when saying, "How many have stayed that way," but everything thing else was a voiceover. Huh.

Exactly, Ben is a 2 way talent. Controlling things in front of and behind the camera is a great thing in regards to the quality of storytelling in the DCEU. He's an undeniable talent.

You know one fool online once suggested that Jason Statham would make a better Batman than Affleck.

LMAO. Jason Statham would make a really good Jason Statham Batman.

Affleck in the past several trailers has shown quite a range-fear, anger, broodiness, determination, and cynicism. I'm not saying he'll be the best live action Batman, but I really think Snyder can pull it off.
