I absolutely don't condone it. It's disappointing as I thought, going by the prequel comics, that they would actually care about that character facet. Like, it was enough he was so brutal anyhow, but ultimately it's not a deal breaker. The way some people were going on about it, I expected Punisher level type of "no mercy" kills and he didn't even do it in "cold blood" or whatever. If I'm honest, it's more of the same with what past live action Batmen have done. Even the one that had a code not to. I wish there was more set up with this Batman though. Whatever they cut out of the film could have been important to justify, maybe not the right word, why he became so aggressive. And the weird editing in this movie didn't compliment a seemingly good arc. At least I'm glad the ending hints at him going back to his old less aggressive ways.

Don't recall. But on this subject, during my stay off of the Hype, I read some old Detective Comics issues. Beggining with issue 27. It's so funny how Bill Finger's/Kane's Batman didn't give a **** about killing. He was throwing people off roofs so often. Sometimes intentionally and sometimes just letting them fall and he even threatened to kill a crook he was interrogating that was afraid of giving up info because he feared he'd be killed by his boss. Batman replied to him, "What makes you think I won't [kill you]" or something like that. :funny:

Then I went on to read some Bronze age stuff. Even while dated, the writing still holds up well. I loved the Gothic and Supernatural issues a lot.

Affleck was perfectly fine, and my worst fears of him killing worked better in context, no different than what happened in TDK trilogy, no worse than BR Batman. Hopefully his solo fares better, because Affleck was the bomb.com

Ben Affleck killed it! My mind is still blown...he was truly born to play this character. First time I can say an actor has gotten literally every element I want in a live action Batman down pact.

I like that the one guy whom people were sure would ruin the character and the movie that they were even ready to boycott it because of him, is seemingly the best part of the film for them. Whether they liked it or not.

I've always had faith in Affleck, really. If I could find my post for when he first got cast, I would. He was basically Batman / Bruce Wayne in GG, and he's a good actor.

He did deliver here indeed even while it wasn't in a film that compliments his performance imo. I loved the intro to Batman so much where he brands that crook though. I wished it went on longer. I actually got chills! I want more of that.

I really wish we had gotten a Batman movie before this one. Batfleck was great but so much to explore with his Batman. Him and Supes need another (Snyderless) solo movie.

^Pretty much. Am still curious how much Batman related stuff was cut out of the film. Could have set him up better in the ultimate cut edition. Same with Superman. Especially Clark Kent investigating Batman.

I loved it when the caged women that the police find say "it saved us" and they were afraid to leave the unlocked cage. :sly:

I really loved the scenes with Bats and Lex. Him in his cell was brilliance and him talking to Lex on the phone was just awesome.

Yes! It was so sinister, I loved it.

"It saved us...The Devil!" "It's still there..." That was chilling. And the way Batman was moving. Speaking of the Devil, I need to get on that Season 2 of Daredevil asap.

He's a good Batman with a potential to be even better in future movies. Bale and Keaton are still better IMO.

Bat-fleck owned Bale's ass in almost every aspect. Voice, bat-suit, acting and Bruce Wayne. And Snyder did much better with aspects like the bat-fights. I'm still amazed at how good Ben Affleck was.

His performance was definitely a massive plus point; he totally nailed both Bruce and Batman. So much so I feel bad that some media outlets and social media is making fun of Ben by showing how sad he seemed in an interview when some of the bad reviews were read out to him. Definitely looked like he took it to heart.

He knows everybody was already waiting to hate him, so I bet he had flashback of daredevil & gigli times when he heard bad reviews... Not easy to get another hit after the man tries to recovery his career for so many years.

I don't think people will hate him though.Interviewer should have told him it's mostly about movie, not you Ben. :cwink:

Yes, and YES! Bats was relatively creepy in both, but in the best kind of way. I also loved the foil between the way people perceived Bats and Supes: Superman as a guardian angel/Jesus figure, Batman as a devil. Both save, but one is all in all worshipped and the other feared. Just sheer brilliance right there.
