Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman - Part 1

WB should've just continued with whatever Zack Snyder was planning for the DC Universe. They thought he wasn't good enough, brought inexperienced Geoff Johns in and now look at all the mess he created. With Zack, at least there would've been some consistency in building the universe without unnatural tonal shifts and fallouts. Staying faithful to comics won't help the film much, Geoff.

I don't have high hopes on Wonder Woman to be honest. Consider me out after Justice League.

Fair enough, but I don't want to see Zack's vision. To each their own.

As I said before aswell he has no experience directing a huge action blockbuster. That's pressure in itself, and he is gonna be starring in it. That's a lot to handle I think for his and the films sake he's probably made the right decision.

But it doesn't have to be a huge action blockbuster!

But it will be all the Batman films have had huge action set pieces and will continue to do so.

It also has to match up to BvS. If we go from the warehouse back to this...

It would be a considerable downgrade.

It has to be an action blockbuster! It features Deathstroke as one of the main villains.

Well he's hardly going to put out a statement saying he hates the role and wishes he could leave, is he?

That's all we have to go on, whatever the conspiracy theorists want to say they're making stuff up. People need to stop acting like he's been forced to star in this movie simply because he's stepped down as director.

God yeah, I love that trilogy but the fight scenes were mostly shocking.

I think most of us were hoping that The Batman would be a smaller, film noir kind of movie. The first Batman movie thats more of a detective story. But, the reality of it is that WB is going to put 100 million+ bucks in it and its going to have expansive action scenes. Thats just how Hollywood works. Even the new Logan movie which looks like a very small, movie has a 120 million + budget.

James Mangold would be a great choice too.

Just because it's a neo-noir detective story doesn't there won't be action set pieces. Deathstroke the Terminator is in this movie. There's no way in hell this is 100% gumshoeing and monologuing with jazz playing in the background.

There is no way WBs would do that with Batman though, I think anyone wanting a smaller Batman picture were always going to be disappointed.

And I'm with idiot. If WB can bring over Jim Mangold to work some magic... well it wouldn't be a bad thing.

It's been a calm few days, good to see things are back to "normal"....

:o

Jett on BOF is desperate for the DCEU to fail, he's making claims he knows more than is been let on. Man that guy is full if s***.

Oh man...don't even go there. I hope they bring back the same fight choreographers from BvS for the rest of Batman's time in the universe.

dont know why some people act like its some sort of sad news

Affleck is a good director, live by night has stunning visuals & shoot
but there's still alot of great directors out here , him focusing on his acting is a great idea, its the only way to make this rivalry feel believable between him & deathstroke

I dont like when the director also star in his movie, its weird

Because it sucks? I wanted to see a Ben Affleck directed Batman film. I was genuinely really excited for it.

But if the thought of directing a film of this scale is offputting for him, isn't it for the best that he steps down and concentrates on aspects he feels more comfortable contributing to? Cause I think directing the film anyway when he isn't a 100% happy doing all that work would have been disastrous.

I agree with matt. But I'm also a realist.

The Batman
Directed by Ben Affleck
Produced by Ben Affleck
Written by Ben Affleck
Staring Ben Affleck

That was never going to happen.

Oh absolutely.

It...still sucks though. :csad:

because of what ? u act like affleck got a GOAT filmaking history

making a batman movie is about action sequence & visuals

what Zack synder did in the warehouse scene , desrert sequence,or the batmobile chase, there's is a very few filmakers who would have pulled that off & ben aint none of them

at this point why no let zack make this movie ? dude probably exshauted but i dont think he would refuse a Batman solo film

That's exactly why I wanted to see Ben do a Batman film. I wanted a grounded tiny thriller. Not another paint by the numbers action superhero end of the world movie.

Plenty of us want that, but we won't get it; Batman is a billion dollar blockbuster franchise, Warner won't allow anything less than that, never gonna happen...
