A problem was that Leto's Joker didn't get a proper treatment. He was toned down into a lovesick puppy. I'm not interested in that. I don't think other fans are, either. Give me the abusive, cruel manipulator. They chickened out after the response of BvS. The real joke was on them.

I actually like most of the Tattoos, with the one exception being Damaged as that goes a little too far for my tastes, the rest though I like them and think they should be kept.

I disagree I think there is a little give with the Joker, with the main thing being that it is unhealthy and possessive, establishing itself more like how a child would view a possession/toy where they might not always want to play with it but if someone else has it they have to take it back sheerly on the principle that it is theirs.

Exactly. It's a control thing. Among many of Joker's shifting traits lies a bit narcissism. One of his origins is that of a failed comedian so showmanship and being the center of attention goes with that.

If Harley starts sleeping around with Deadshot or Ivy that's going to piss him off, not because he loves her, but because he couldn't stand losing control of Harley to either them.

Eh, I actually prefer the look of Leto's Joker over any of the other live action looks, particularly when suited up. Tattoos don't bother me and the complaint seems overblown.

Damaged one is pretty lousy though.

Personally I LOVE this Joker's looks, tattoos and bling and all (I don't love the Damaged one, but not once did I find it distracting on screen).

The extreme "gangsta" and "cartel" look, being very "in your face" and even slightly upsetting is Joker to a T, which was the original intention with the purple suit and look, I'd say; people need to understand that a pristine purple suit is not "flamboyant" enough nowadays.

For me I would just like Leto's Joker to have eyebrows and a distorted smile where it goes all the way up his face.

How do you accomplish this without it being campy or mimicking burton orr nolans joker ?
Cgi would make it off putting imo. You could copy rafael grampa's design gives you the illusion but we see how well tattoos went over with this design.

I always thought Nicholson and Heath were just inspired by the comic book Joker who had that type of smile...I don't rram comics and I'm not obsessed with The Joker like some. I just thought the clown smile was another side effect of his accident and without it Jared's Joker looks kind of off. I know people hate the tattoos but maybe he could tattoo red lines up his face.
On a side note: I think it would be creepy and cool if he tattooes stitch marks around his face as a call back to the story of his facing getting ripped off in the comics.

If the Joker were to turn up in the next movie without his tattoos and no explanation was given for why they are gone, I doubt most of the general audience would care. I do not think many of us comic nerds would really care either tbh.

The tattoos are a huge part of his appeal to the GA and his defining feature to them as much as Ledger's facial scar was.

I think from a "selling point" WB would want to keep them.

JW if you still want it gone despite the apparent reason of it being there as a message to Batman? The damaged tattoo is the one most dislike so I say that one can disappear. But there is also another one under his left eye which looks like a tear drop and it really bugs me.
