I'm going to be the voice of reason, people. This is GOOD. Look, let's all be honest here, Affleck was overwhelmed. You could see it.He was starting to crack and let his frustration out in the media. It was a LOT for anyone to take on. Writing, directing, producing and starring in a big multi-million dollar budget film is a task of mammoth proportions. Affleck is obviously invested in the character and this universe but this was clearly a ton of pressure that he didn't need and it was diverting his focus.
People, Affleck is still producing, writing the script and he's still BATMAN. I feel like this will still be Ben's movie but bringing someone in to point the cameras, yell "action!" and "cut!" If thats what it takes to get the pressure off of Ben's back so he can focus on delivering a tour de force performance and fine tune the script, then so be it. I've said this before, when Ben was being constantly nagged in the press, if Ben was that clearly frustrated with everything, then it was not a good place for the movie to be in. No director should start a movie from a place of frustration and exhaustion, it never ends well. A director should be excited and passionate.
I believe in this movie, and whoever they get, I think this will still be a Ben Affleck film in spirit.
