Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman - Part 1

Ben could probably write the hell out of a standalone Batman flick, but remember, he appeared in Suicide Squad, which set up a showdown between Bruce and Deadshot (now Deadshot is getting a spinoff, so there's story to be had there.) Batman had his run-in's with Joker and Harley, so who knows where that all ties in because Joker killing Robin in BvS is still in play. Then Deathstroke in Justice League, where will that eventually take us? The huge headache I bet is tying all of this together and Ben probably looked at Snyder's DCEU blueprint and was like "....oh sh$%#."

I think this is something that isn't enoughly considered. I would find this really frustration to have to write a story for a character like that and not being able to fully play with a so rich universe. In two films, they gave a lot of questions around Batman, maybe too many.
Also, what happened to Wayne Manor ?

He should be kept away as far from Batman as possible, for sure. Also, I always thought him to be a mediocre writer at best, with only few interesting stories behind him... out of all people from DC I'd have as consultants, he wouldn't be nowhere on my list.

He's a fair enough writer but I'm not on the Geoff Johns hype train to say the least. Lol.

I think the potential holdup would not only be collaborating with Geoff to find the balancing of the source material, but probably fitting everything in as connective stories that need to piggy-back off of the other films. Affleck doesn't have that type of writing experience, does he? It's probably way tougher than it sounds and there's probably inconsistencies that come with that. Again, it's probably more than one thing that's annoying rather than script issues. There's deadlines and having to know what everybody else is doing..for instance, what Ayer is doing with Gotham City Sirens, etc.

At the moment, the only way the Batman stand alone needs to connect to GCS is that it's also set in Gotham.

Terrio probably rewrote some dialogue with the story still being mostly Affleck and Johns.

Wasn't it reported that Geoff and Affleck re-wrote Terrio's JL script? If so, curious strategy with whatever is going on. Lol.

Lord Terrio rewrote that script? THAT **** IS LIT FAM

Prepare your brain boys, you will need it for this film. Imagine likes of Riddler and Joker, written by Chris Goddamn Terrio. Hnngh.

"Civilaztion on the wane, manners out the window". Wow a script written by Terrio and Affleck.

That goes to show how serious he is about getting this movie right, he brought in his close confidant and friend Terrio. Also it shows that Affleck loved and trusted his work in BvS and JL enough, to bring him on this. I am pretty confident of this project, and Im just waiting for them to bring in a new director.

Good lawd. My hype levels just went of the roof after hearing about this. I am now much more confident about this than I was before.

BvS was cheesy? First time Im hearing that.

Terrio is definitly the man when it comes to dialogue. It's always hella eloquent and clever. So I'm very pleased that his involvement in The Batman script has been confirmed.

I wonder who's idea it was for Batman to use Dick Cheney lines as his dialogue.

Not as a whole...just some of the dialogue, that some thought was clever just felt cheesy to me.

"There was a time above... a time before. There were perfect things... diamond absolutes. But things fall, things on Earth. And what falls... is fallen."

This is cheesy dialogue to everyone who isn't a teenager or a media student.

It was overdone and waffled on, which was a worry I had pre-release due to his interviews being much the same way. I agree on cheesy, too. Anything with Lex, the whole "Do you bleed" scene etc.

I don't understand how that even applies. If anything, his portrayal of Batman alone redeemed the stank of Daredevil. He's been in one film, and cameo'd in another, and both times his portrayal was praised. In terms of his directing career getting set back, what? He didn't direct anything yet in the DCEU, and his last directorial work was Live By Night, which has nothing to do with DCEU. If anything, his continued association with Batman is keeping him in a positive light.

I think Ben is a great Batman but the very association to DCEU is harming him and a huge set back for his career. Yes, he got pretty good reviews, many fans liked his work but it became popular to ridicule him, starting with Sadfleck meme and now reflected in Razzie nominations. People ridicule him again. Add to that Live by Night failure and he is at the lowest point in his career since a very long time. DCEU is bringing him problems, not presenting him in positive light.

Wow, completely disagreed. BvS dialogue was a much better step up from MOS. It was the best lines I have heard from a CBM after TDKT.

Yep.

Yep.

I'll take any of the dialogue from Jor El or Jonathon over anything Lex says.

Absolutes. The best way to make your point resonate.

Oof, I'd forgotten that one. You hit the nail on the head. Not to mention "The Bat is dead. Bury it." and all that other nonsense. Goyer's Zod stuff was more convincing than any of Lex's speeches, too.

I like Terrio as well. Why wasn't he involved in this from the start ? And I don't get how anyone can call the writing cheesy and praise the MCU at the same time.

Are you sure you are judging the dialogue here or the actor? And I dont consider sophisticated wordplay as cheesy.

Also I think the dialogue in BvS was much more snappier. There was no "it only goes downhill after the first kiss" etc. Eh agree to disagree.
