agreed.

Also **** all this Lex talk. This aint the thread for it. What Terrio rewrite tells me though, is Affleck trusts Terrio to rewrite his script(so Im assuming he liked his work in BvS and JL). Thats a good thing.

True. That is the silver lining. I hope Terrio knocked it outta the park. Obviously lol.

There's to many assumptions been made about Ben regarding his position in the DCEU. He's only ever seemed happy when talking about BvS and JL. Heck look at him when they were filming JL he is enjoying himself. He said before he's proud of BvS aswell. I think the assumptions been made in other threads about him because he's stepped down as director are quite frankly pathetic. It's all just jumping on the hate bandwagon hoping it goes wrong. Then there's idiots like Jett at BOF saying bad things about JL because it's not what he wanted.

Let it be. A lot of people come out of their holes when these negative news drop. And a lot of people are genuinely scared about this, and like human nature dictates, they immediately assume the worst, and start thinking about the worst cast scenario ala :

You just have to ignore. We just have to be patient for the good news to come. New directors for The Batman and The Flash and timetable for their productions. And if WW does well, which it looks like it would, things will suddenly look much more positive.

Terrio had to have been working on this rewrite for some time, I'm assuming? For this news to come on the heels of Affleck leaving the director's chair could mean Terrio finally produced a rewrite, or he has very fast writing hands.

Though Affleck has said he wasn't satisfied with the script, that much we know, so whether Terrio's rewrite suffices, we shall see.

Fear spreads like a disease fueled by unscrupulous "journalists" and posters that would rather see the whole things fall down before it not aligning with their narrative; if anything the saddest part is that - as per human nature - it affects even those of us who are optimistic and happy about what we've gone so far (you hear "the sky is falling" enough times, you start wondering...).

It's in moments like that when it's good to step back, breathe and have a little perspective, also good to remember that the MCU (not trying to start a thing, hear me out here) went through the same (or similar) growing pains in their early stages; the moment we start getting some good news/positive buzz for the DCEU, the bells will have been rung....

Now, onto that Batman fella...is a fact we'll see him kicking parademon a$$, and more than likely fight Deathstroke too, but do you think we'll see some good ol' Batman-moping-Gotham's-streets-with-a-bunch-of-thugs (or as I like to call it, "Bat-foreplay")??

Did they, though? In Phase One? The worst that happened was...what, Edward Norton being replaced with Mark Ruffalo? Or Terrence Howard being replaced with Don Cheadle? Rhodey being recast wasn't really the end of the world, especially since his role only got bigger starting with Iron Man 2.

There were more issues than that, but they weren't under this type of comparative microscope. Also, they're not entirely Ben Affleck related.

This accompanied with rumors of Marvel wanting to low-ball their stars (possibly loosing SLJ), Rourke trash-talking marvel, etc; my point was that those things are part of the industry, but it's a much bigger business nowadays to exaggerate and sell those rumors as certainties nowadays than it was 8 years ago.

But never mind this, I mentioned that to bring some perspective, not the start the same old DC vs MCU thing; let's get back on topic.

I seriously think we should get back on topic.

I'm interested to see how Batman figures into the big fight in this one. Knowing the characater he will have learned from his participation against Doomsday. So the armour is one aspect but does anyone think he will most fight from his vehicle and then enter the fight man on man later?

I think he'll be taking care of Parademons while some are fighting Steppenwolf and the others saving/helping civilians.

I'm thinking Batman and Cyborg handling Parademons, while Supes, WW and Aquaman fight Steppenwolf, while Flash maintains a parameter for damage control.

I'd love to see Cyborg and Batman roasting those Parademons. Wish it was Rated R. :(

While we're at it - i'm really curious to see that new spider like vehicle which he's gonna use to fight parademons.

So Terrio re-wrote The Batman? I think Ben is totally out of his realm here. The Town, Argo and Live By Night are one thing, but superhero mythology and tying everything together seems just way over his head. I know he's a Batman fan and understands the character, but maybe he's not up to snuff with this whole superhero thing and making scripts out of these characters. Terrio has that screen writing experience so somebody needs to smooth everything out. The DCEU is lucky to have a guy like Terrio right now.

I'm sure Affleck and Johns have good character-beats going in the script with Johns proving a DC Universal world, but things need to make sense and come together script wise. It just seems that way at the moment. Who knows.

I don't trust Geoff Johns. We would've been much better in Snyder's hands right now.

I am huge pro-Snyder guy, but we need to give Johns some time. Maybe he just came in at a time when everything was going south. Anyway Snyder was never a head of the universe like Johns and berg are now. It was a braintrust before, while its just 2 guys handling everything now.

Also Johns gets these characters man, and he is as big a fan as us guys. We need to give him some time. Lets see how WW does before putting him under the bus.

Remember how in JL: War Batman is rescuing Superman while the rest is fighting Darkseid?? What is in this scenario Bats and Cyborg are not only fighting parademons, but rescuing the kidnapped scientists and Silas is the last one to get?? That'd be pretty cool; also, I don't want Flash on the sidelines...but I trust Snyder's ability to make everyone in the team an integral part of the final fight.

Well Batman is gonna roast some parademons alright, also hope Supes does too with his heat vision :D

Very true. Even 2 weeks ago he was saying he was directing the Batman. Now look, there is no reason for him to lie. It does no good to anyone, and only brings further bad publicity. The only possible explanation was now that he went ahead with the project, and now that he is free to completely devote his attention to this, and they are dealing with all other issues like storyboarding, costume etc, he realised he was way in over his head, and decided to reduce his responsibility to do his best at what he is doing. He brought in Terrio to doctor the script, and now he will bring in a director he trusts. The moment they get a new director, this project will be in much better shape.

I think John's is just an oversee'er in comic book mythology/story and character developmental stuff who helps tie in things that make sense in the overall cinematic story. Maybe more of a Goyer; idea guy who knows more about how the DC Universe clicks and what it needs as far as source material. I think WB is clearly struggling in the divisional departments they created and who reports to who. The Feig thing is clearly lacking.

I like the general thought that Ben is depressed because of the DCEU. I mean the guy's going through marriage troubles, his passion project got **** on critically and financially, he's been working nonstop for the past 3-4 years on multiple projects, but yea, let's blame it all on the DCEU.

As far as his position DCEU, if he had Terrio rewrite his and John's script, someone he trusts, that goes more in the grain that he's going to stay involved with The Batman as opposed to leaving the project completely like many chicken-littles are exclaiming in this forum. Why would you bring your homeboy into a project that you intend to abandon? It doesn't make sense. This news of Terrio being involved now actually quells some of my fears about Ben's commitment to Batman and DCEU as a whole. If nothing else, he's at least contractually obligated to appear in JL2, so at least the league won't be missing Bruce in the event The Batman does get scrapped or delayed indefinitely.

As far as BvS's dialogue is concerned, it's all subjective. But you can't tell me something like "He's not our hero, he's a silent protector, a watchful guardian, a dark knight" is not any less cheesy than the stuff in BvS. It's pretty grand that some are complaining the dialogue is too comic book-y. Well guess what kind of movie your watching. You guys complain about the unrealistic and theatrical dialogue in BvS? What about half the ridiculous thing Tony Stark says? These double standards really frustrates me sometimes.

I was fine with the braintrust. The problem was the studio meddling. We'll see how things look under Johns. Glad I still get another DCEU flick from Papa Snyder. I still get the vibe Johns took on the role to protect Snyder.

I am happy to know that Terrio is writing..

They need to get a good script in place first.

I think WB may be considering director of Accountant for this...
