Batman 89 says hello.
Or....you know, The Dark Knight....
Batman 89 says hello.
Oh really? Been meaning to check that at some point because I loved Let the Right One In and was curious to see how the remake would do.
would love to see Matt bringing both Chloe and Kodi into DCEU/Batman/Titans etc.Ya I enjoyed the original version, haven't seen Reeve's version neither, I thought it'd be another Hollywood copycat, but the critical reviews were actually really good and the child actors were great toowould love to see Matt bringing both Chloe and Kodi into DCEU/Batman/Titans etc.

There has never been a live action version where Batman was truly brutal with The Joker yet the later still doesn't back down.

There's an entire sequence in the best comic book movie ever made where Batman throws The Joker around an interrogation cell so hard that it smashes the safety glass in the windows. The Joker then taunts Batman by saying that he can do nothing to stop him, despite all of Batman's strength.
Here it quite literally is:

I think he probably means in terms of blood, physical marketings etc. Cause we haven't really seen that. Sure he bled out of his mouth in Batman '89 but it wasn't really brutal. That scene above you mention is pure aggression and it's brutal but it's brutal 'light' IMO (of course it's an amazing scene and probably the best in live action between the two characters). TBH though I doubt we ever see a truly violent and brutal beat down like that (at least not in the cinema, maybe on an uncut edition). The Dark Knight is probably a brutal as it will get.
On a serious note, there is room for everything. There can be a Batman who appeals to kids(Lego Batman, JL action), there can be a Batman who is more adult(TDKR, much of Scott Snyder's Batman), there can be stuff which is a bit balanced(like BTAS, Batman Begins etc). Saying something absolute and extreme like "No Batman cant be ultra violent and adult" or "batman cant appeal to kids" is just close minded. You can have it all.
Yep. And that's the way it should be. Batman also appeals to children. Anyone who wants an ultra violent, gory, and R Rated Batman needs to grow the **** up.
Says Batman is for kids. Tells people to grow up.

I think by "brutal", he meant the teeth smashing, thug killing, steal yo girl then knock her ass out kinda brutal.

That's exactly what I meant. Batman has always been a brawler and brutal but we've never seen him like he was in BvS or rumored to have been with The Joker. Some of those guys in that warehouse fight are sucking through straws for the rest of their lives.
Last I checked, Batman didn't beat him so bad he knocked out all his front teeth.
Your deliberately misconstruing my point for the sake of point scoring. I was responding to the idea of a brutal, r-rated Batman on screen. You can tell I meant that because I literally put it in my comment![]()

Pretty brutal, if you ask me.
The only reason to lighten it up is a commercial one. To appeal to the younger audience, to sell toys and to make it family friendly to sell more tickets. Or because the story asks for it. From a more creative point of view. if the story asks for it, I say yes to a more violent Batman story. Like I said, there is room for everything. Thats my take on it.
