Ben Affleck Says He Will Never Play Superhero Roles Again

London, England (AHN) - Ben Affleck learned his lesson a long time ago, after making a comic book movie: Never wear tight pants for any movie role, no matter how much they pay you. Okay, maybe if they pay you a huge amount you can reconsider.

In any case, the cutie-patootie says he will never take on the role of a superhero again. He says it was hard to play down the humiliation after he wore a tight-fitting costume in "Daredevil" - the movie set where he met his wife, Jennifer Garner - three years ago.

Affleck, who currently stars in "Hollywoodland" about the controversial death of TV Superman George Reeves, says he was so humiliated wearing his superhero costume, he vowed to never repeat the same mistake again.

According to StarPulse.com, he said, "By playing a superhero in 'Daredevil,' I have inoculated myself from ever playing another superhero. Wearing a costume was a source of humiliation for me and something I wouldn't want to do again soon."

Humiliation. No doing "Reindeer Games" and "Gigli" was a source of humiliation. At least DareDevil got you fanboys.

he'll learn his lessons soon enough.. DVD's of Daredevil have done very well.. I guess he doesn't care..

seems odd too, especially considering A. he met his wife on set, and B. she seemed to love play Elektra

That statement is hypocritical and ungrateful in a number of ways. First, what happened to the Affleck who said he was a huge Daredevil fan when he did the movie, since when dressing like a character you supposedly love is a source of humiliation? Christian Bale didn´t grow up reading Batman like you said you did with DDand he still said it was an honor to dress like him... Second, didn´t you have to put on another costume just recently to play George Reeves playing Superman in Hollywoodland? Third, that I remember DD was the last movie you did that was successful at the BO, not mentioning you met your wife there and it secured her another gig.

Well, DD didn't need that butt-chinned "cutie-patootie" anyway! :cmad:

Aflek is a moron. He plain sucked as DD. People like Tobey Maguire, Bale and the F4 actors aren't sining the same tune as Benny Boy because they didn't suck like he did. Aflek is a sore loser who humiliated himself long before he put on the red leather. What a tool.

Wait a sec. You guys are taking a "quote" from StarPulse.com at face value? I don't know man, sounds like gossip to me.

Is this a "fanboy taking things out of proportion" thing yet again?

Didn't you guys learn anything from that "AFFELCK HATZ TEH SUPERHEROS!!!!!1LOL!" thread from a few days ago? :down

Gammy and Affleck's chin sittin' in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g. :cmad:

I'm sure it is just gossip. I don't see why he would stir things up with crap like that. The Fleck knows better.

We don't want him in a sequel anyway if they did it.

I'll take Affleck as Daredevil over any performance in Fantastic Four or X3 (save Kelsey Grammer as Beast) every day of the week.
Yeah, it's not saying much, but still.

Pfft, what about that dog that covered it's eyes? Yeah, that's what I thought. :cmad:

i thought that being Ben Affleck was the ultimae source of humiliation

It definitely goes deeper than "I hated wearing tights"...Its more like, he got ripped apart for his portrayal...the movie was panned, it was a bad experience both during and after, and he probably feels he was talked into it and couldn't back out...the finished product, and the reactions from fans and critics got to him in a big way. Blaming it on how uncomfortable he was...its an easy way to silence some gossip reporter or movie news journalist quickly, he responds like that because he simply doesn't want to talk about it.
