I don't get the excuses here. Affleck has been playing chicken with the press for weeks now. He said he would direct it on Kimmel now he won't not too long ago. I mean he was pretty insistent. I remember the man saying if he could get the script where he wanted to then he would direct it and with that start date ahead of his insistence to take the time to get it right. So that probably means the script isn't where he wants it to be in order to direct it. That press release is just a polite way of him backing out of it.
That statement almost sounds like him leaving the DCCU. I'm pretty sure at this point he's having serious doubts about this whole decision to join it.
Something is deeply, deeply wrong here. I'm assuming this is part of Affleck to mitigate anymore future damage to his career after BVS, Live By Night, what will probably be JL, and then directing in this which he knows poses the biggest blow of all. I don't blame him.
For those expecting the next great Nolan level Batman films, it ain't gonna happen. Not with this regime.
Just **** it. Get Snyder to direct at this point. It's only consistent.
