It's kind of etched into everybody's brain to the point of no return. It's like an unwritten rule that needs to be stickied and doesn't need to be brought up any longer lol. It's overstayed its welcome.

Well, maybe not brought up by people that liked that movie :cwink: but I take your point

White wabbit whatever the hell that dialogue was for Lex was pure garbage.

WB and Affleck right now:

And let's not forget the grand turning point in the whole movie... the crowning turd in the water pipe... the thing around which the entire movie pivots... the most important line of dialogue in the whole debacle...

'Martha'.

Too bad for your critique that it was never just "Martha" on its own.

Hey, if you want 15 pages of relentless debate that gets nowhere then by all means, haha.

#LetZackDirect

you know it to be true, boys and girls!!! it would uh.... be awesome, right?

No. It was surrounded by a lot of other terrible stuff - Martha is shorthand for how bad that script truly is

These jokes aren't funny. :csad:

That's because it could quite genuinely happen.

If they can't persuade other directors that it's a good gig - despite all the directors leaving DC projects - then..... here comes Zacky Boy!!!!!

I bet internet bloggers and clickbaiters are praying Snyder gets every DC movie. The amount of traffic and panic it brings to these properties are insane. Fans have been custom to fight the good fight of being divisive over each other, but man, these sites have to be loving it. It's a dream to see this type of dysfunction for writers and "journalists."

I really think he should though

He's always wanted this, just let him have it. its his batman after all

Ooooh. Think of how many people Affleck can gratuitously kill in a whole movie devoted to Murderman! Picture the angst! Delight in the terrible character motivation! Gasp at how far the mark can be missed! Swoon as you watch the greatest comic book character of all time given the worst portrayal possible!

he'd make leto look great after what we got in suicide, gotham would probably look great

as long as superman isn't in the movie for him to butcher, I'm ok with him directing at this point.

If it means we get closer to a reboot or a Nolan brothers return, then let Zack take it.

I don't get the excuses here. Affleck has been playing chicken with the press for weeks now. He said he would direct it on Kimmel now he won't not too long ago. I mean he was pretty insistent. I remember the man saying if he could get the script where he wanted to then he would direct it and with that start date ahead of his insistence to take the time to get it right. So that probably means the script isn't where he wants it to be in order to direct it. That press release is just a polite way of him backing out of it.

That statement almost sounds like him leaving the DCCU. I'm pretty sure at this point he's having serious doubts about this whole decision to join it.

Something is deeply, deeply wrong here. I'm assuming this is part of Affleck to mitigate anymore future damage to his career after BVS, Live By Night, what will probably be JL, and then directing in this which he knows poses the biggest blow of all. I don't blame him.

For those expecting the next great Nolan level Batman films, it ain't gonna happen. Not with this regime.

Just **** it. Get Snyder to direct at this point. It's only consistent.

i mean, yeah pretty much. Let zack have his fun at this point. if its bad, pull the plug, it was already dead to begin with. if by some chance people actually respond to this batman film positively, give him the ball again.

I think snyder needs to direct a DC movie without superman, I think that would be something I might be able to get behind. other than the second hand murder and his dumb motive for fighting superman, this batman wasn't total character assassination.

Rebooting isn't gonna help jack ****. It's not the solution anymore. Especially for WB. The word rebooting is thrown around too much now. Like it's some magical thing. We're in an age where a reboot doesn't mean we're gonna get a BB or CR or ST09.

Is this still going to shoot this year? Because if so, this is the deep **** situation where a director has to come in short notice, on a Batman film of all things and start from scratch or has to conform with what's already there. Neither sound like good options in the time that's left.

If it means we get closer to a reboot or a Nolan brothers return, then let Zack take it.

Soft reboot written by Nolans. Begin with Bat universe and broaden from there. Only movies around Superman, Batman And Wonder Woman, with other characters in smaller supporting roles. No Justice League. Concentrate on trinity. Smaller budgets, more creative scripts, less pressure, younger, hungrier directors. Keep it simple, clean and punchy.

Keep feeding Lord Snyder. The dude single handily turned this genre upside and ontop its head. It's the type of director that he is and if WB is willing to ride and die by Snyder, this is the deal you make with his type. The tears and uproar the dude has caused is actually legendary. This will go down as an era that will eventually be missed. It's just weirdly satisfying haha. The controversy and dysfunction is gold when fans are like "Fu$% it, let Snyder do it." It's really a special time that will probably end on a dime. We'll probably never see these levels again.

Sorry but I will not miss bad movies and poor directing.

It all doesn't really matter. We're all in this for the ride no matter what levels of bad or good we'll enter. It makes it satisfyingly weird for me to witness this stuff with you guys haha.

If Snyder directs, maybe we'll get that prison rape scene after all.

I'm not messing around, I truly believe that if zack is going to direct a good DCEU movie, The Batman would be his best bet, especially if he didn't write or have a major hand in the screenplay. Gotham would look great, probably the best since burton.

I also think he'd probably give us a much better joker than what we got (Extremely low bar to top, but the point still stands)

Snyder was the first person who came to mind and it should have been everybody else's as well, just because of the pattern of events. I don't think Snyder will do it, only in a powerplay situation but I'd bet he'd be involved in some way or another.
