I echo that @mattreevesLA !

We have no reason to take Affleck at his word any longer so I can understand their skepticism

Ah, negativity. The greatest waste of time. Thank you Ben Affleck for the tweet. Bring on The Batman.

Assuming Affleck sticks around, we have one of three scenarios:

1) Matt Reeves and Ben Affleck are committed to just one Batman film, and that's it.
2) Matt Reeves and Ben Affleck are committed to this Batman film, and are open to sequels should the first film prove successful.
3) Matt Reeves is open to sequels, but Affleck isn't. The plan is to phase Bruce Wayne out and replace him with Dick Grayson.

I can't imagine they'd work sequel options into Reeves' contract if he'd have to recast Affleck mid-series. So either Reeves is only up for one film, Affleck is more open to sequels than we've been led to believe, or they're building up to Dick Grayson taking on the mantle and giving Affleck an out after one film.

Stop telling them how they should feel.

Ben has said before that he's definitely going to direct and look what happened. I personally believe he's doing this and then hanging it up. But who knows, maybe he won't even do this film. Or maybe he's in it half the time, with the other half being flashbacks with a younger actor. What if he's saying welcome to the batcave because he's a producer and writer of this movie, not necessarily the actor???

Nothing is really confirmed yet. People here need to stop jumping down the throats of fans who aren't *********ing to this news. So what if we're skeptical. WB ha e given us every reason to be.

I understand it too. I just think going hard in one direction is a bad idea.

Skepticism of Affleck's commitment is not exactly a case of being negative for the sake of it. What he tweets out should be taken with a grain of salt until he's on set in costume.

It's one thing to state your "scoop"/opinion, but it's another when something positive happens and you're trying so hard to "prove" you are right and everyone excited for the news should sit down and be sad, instead of letting fans have a good day and face these debates later.

I'm talking about Frosty and the journalists alike.

The question of timing of negativity comes a lot in fandom. There is no perfect time to deliver bad news or have a negative opinion on something.

Generally its not a great time to go negative right after a positive story.

Only if you're worried about backlash.

I like MOS less and less each time I watch it, BvS I really hate, and Suicide Squad I liked okay. The DCEU has great things about it, but it really hasn't added up to movies that I consider very good or great.
I like MoS, but I love BvS...especially the Ultimate Edition. I don't care for Suicide Squad though. They were gutless and the film should've been so much more.

I enjoy MOS, have a soft spot for the Ultimate Edition. I recognize it's problems, but I still enjoy watching it when I need my DCEU fix. Suicide Squad is bad though. I'm glad I won the blu-ray for free otherwise I may not have bought it!

Why later? Just because it might piss off some fanboys? People need thicker skin. Nothin wrong with a good debate or difference of opinion.

I can't get past a lot of Snyder's creative choices. The performances are good most of the time, but the characters don't work for me. I enjoy my time hanging out with the squad so that helps me forgive the plot issues.

well today's the the ONE day that DC fans rejoice.

He's delivered the "bad news" a month ago, then a week ago, but what's the need to stick out today? Even Variety guy's having fun with him now. It's like saying "stop this celebration FFS!!"

This guy doesn't tweet this kind of stuff all the time like we do, but he insists on going on a limb today.

Yeah some of the character and story based decisions are kind of puzzling as they're so obviously bad.

This means nothing! Affleck cannot be believed!

Lol. They can do it any time they want.

Just act like an adult professional journalist, instead of like a child.

It's like someone struggling with his finance, but his wife just announced her pregnancy, and this professional adult colleague with a well known social media account insists on telling everyone "nono his finance's still crap, focus on this man, focus on this!"

As a working adult, that is NOT adult professional behaviour.

But that's just my subjective opinion, some people like to behave like this, what am I to stop them, I'll just watch them while having my popcorn

Like I said, thicker skin is needed.

Yeah, i don't get it why the Collider guys are saying the same thing again and again. Imagine if Ben Affleck does Justice League 2?

And after the Deadpool 2/X-Force thing yesterday, when they are completely wrong about everything, i really don't trust in any word from Collider right now.
