I'm still on my Nightwing high and don't see myself coming down from it any time soon

When I read about that I cheered...then immediately I remembered you probably were as excited as me :)

Going with a totally washed out Batman right at the start of the DCEU was a terrible move. We really only had a Batman in his prime in TDK, and then the next one already had him all given up and weary. So right now, a more energetic in-his-prime Batman would be much more engrossing

To be fair, the entire Burton/Schumacher series more or less showed you a Batman in his prime.

Yes, it was implied that he'd only become Batman recently in B89, but he was essentially presented as fully formed in that movie.

Batman is physically in his prime right, at least compared to past iterations. He was just emotionally out of it. But now he's back. So everyone will probably feel better about things after JL.

People have a genuine reason to not believe him here. In fact for all of those trying to stick it Collider or whoever just keep in mind you were misled once by Affleck already.

How did Affleck mislead people?

He stepped down after that interview, not before.

A Batman 20 years into his journey should not be in his prime.

Its Batman. Even in his mid-fifties he is a monster(TDKR). This guy is just in his mid-forties. Remember this guy has reached peak human level strength and endurance. He may not be in his prime(mid thirties) but he is still pretty much up there physically. Since mentally he will be more in the right place in JL, it will be very much classic Batman, even if its a few years after his prime.

Nah, last I checked DC made 6.7 billion dollars for WB.

AT&T is going to take a break from making money... That's kind of the opposite of the point of business.

I wasn't happy about an "older Batman" when they announced it, but let's just look at what's on screen; this "past his prime" Batman is WAY more physically capable and acrobatic that ANY Batman we've seen before in live action, only comparable to animated and game form.

I think the whole "aged" aspect was overblown as a selling point, we know he's mid 40s because we're aware of every little detail and interviews and everything the filmmakers said, but I think in the actual movies they'll keep his age kinda vague (like with RDJ's Tony Stark) as in early-mid 40s, since Affleck can easily pass for younger than his age; I mean, he looked a lot younger than what we were told in the movie.

Like how in the trailers he said "I'm getting slow in my old age, Alfred", but the actual movie line was "You're getting slow in your old age, Alfred"; it was the selling point, and as Affleck himself said in an interview, that was a Batman at the end of his rope (mentally and emotionally), but in JL we see a Batman "reborn" so to speak.

We don't have an "old" Batman, we have an experienced one.

I really hope they adopt the under the red hood storyline..it is such an awesome story

Which was another mistake. Snyder wanted batman to move like the video games so he should not have made Bruce close to 50. If he wanted to use the Miller version so bad, he should have shown Bruce struggling to move a bit.

Zack doesn't think. He wants to have his cake and eat it too. He wants to do everything at once just because it's cool. He doesn't even think about the characters as much as he should be.

So you admit that he's not in his prime..

Are they out every single night doing what Batman is doing for 20 years? No.
