Yeah. Can't say Batman kicking ass and taking names in his mid-forties really bothers me all that much.

Here's hoping they right the ship, because there is great story potential in an older Batman. Especially if the arc has to do with redemption and forgiveness.

Of course he kicks ass and takes names but they have him moving around like he's 25 in his first year. It's stupid and thoughtless. They're trying to market BvS as an aging Bruce and then they don't care enough to dive into who that character would be.

Saying "well they're fictional characters!" Is such a lazy response too. They are still supposed to be human beings, these characters, so they should be treated as such. Fictional or not.

Batfleck gets shot in the head and he just growls and punches the guy. It's like OK you guys just said "screw it, he's in a movie with gods, so let's make him a god too."

I wasn't happy about an "older Batman" when they announced it, but let's just look at what's on screen; this "past his prime" Batman is WAY more physically capable and acrobatic that ANY Batman we've seen before in live action, only comparable to animated and game form.

This.

We don't have an "old" Batman, we have an experiencedone.

Also this.

I think it adds an interesting element to Batman and his crusade, much like a worn out Batman added to THE DARK KNIGHT RISES before he got his magic knee brace. It adds a sense of immediacy to everything he does.

And let's face it, Affleck isn't exactly looking past his prime. Ultimately, they didn't cast Josh Brolin, they case Affleck. This Batman can be a father figure, but he's hardly a grandfather.

He's still doing it for 20 years. He shouldn't be moving like he's in his 20s.

There are professional sports players in their late thirties who are far more athletic than I am, and I'm in my late twenties.

It stands to reason that with his resources, Bruce is able to keep himself in excellent physical condition. Diet, exercise, supplements, the works. Outside of some over-the-top action beats (which is more of a stylistic choice than anything else), there is nothing unsound about Batman maintaining strength and stamina in his forties.

This really seems to be bothering you a ton. It's ok man, take a deep breath. It's gonna be ok I swear. You're making a mountain out of a mole hill, it's not that serious.

Batman's action sequences and fighting style is the absolute greatest thing in BvS for me. I understand why someone would take issue with it based on the character's age, but I got to see Batman fight in a way I've only seen in books and animation, and despite my general dislike for the film, I'm going to hold on to that for the rest of my life. I think Snyder is much more concerned with emotional realism than physical realism, we could argue his execution on the emotional aspects of the film but that's a different matter.

This "fighting like he's in his 20's complaint is kind of silly, seeing as how Batman's actual fighting and stunts in the film are done by a man who is not anywhere near his 20's: Richard Cetrone, who I'm pretty sure is at least in his mid to late thirties, seeing as how he was doing stunts for back in 1995. If he was say, as young as 15 then, then he'd have to be at least 35 or 36 now, if not older.

A 45 year old Batman is really Old, he should be retiring. :o

Seems like some people just want to nitpick and complain about every aspect of these movies. It sounds like Snyder wanted to make this Batman "old" in the sense that he has seen some **** and is more cynical, but not in his physicality. Like it was more about the psychology of the character and his outlook on life/crime/heroics than his ability to physically be Batman. The dude probably trains every day, eats the best quality food you could possibly imagine, of course he's going to be healthy.

Tell it to this guy...

See, this is what you get when people grow up with Chris Nolan movies where Batman wants to quit every two minutes.

Batman, in the comics, tends to be depicted as someone who will do what he does until he dies.

Batman will fight to the grave, don't doubt it...

(and he'll take everyone around with him :o )

I love the fact that Nolan's Batman got a self contained story and a happy ending tho.

Once again this is going over your head.

Who cares about the stuntmen? Is he the character of batman fighting crime every single night for 20 years, falling off of God knows what, breaking bones, getting burnt, on and on and on???

Who the stuntman is or his age is irrelevant.

I'm not saying Bruce should be hobblin around but he still comes off as if he's not human. Invincible. Gunshots to the head, maximum strength and speed. He's able to do this after a crazy battle with Superman. And after that warehouse scene he's dealing Doomsday and showing no signs of slowing down. It's ridiculous.

This is basically BATGOD. Not Batman. But he looks cool right ?

Personally after having a more "realistic" Batman in the Nolan series, I welcome a more fantastical, "comic booky" version, but I can only speak for myself.

Why is this always the response when somebody doesn't agree ? You act like the person is mad or needs a chill pill. But when the shoe is on tne other foot..

This is discussion and disagreement. Just because I disagree with something doesn't mean I'm pissed off or taking it so seriously. I just disagree with the writing and direction of this series so far.

What is the relevance of this? Are you talking to me? Cuz I don't think anyone was discussing Batman quitting or not quitting.

And if you are indeed talking about me with that Nolan remark, then let me answer. I grew up with Burton, the comics and B:TAS long before I saw the Nolan films.

Bat-God is fine so long as he has the money and equipment to back it up. Better than getting nearly mauled to death by two Rottweilers.

Just because not everyone is doing a happy dance about Affleck's Batman or the Reeves announcement, doesn't mean we have to chill, lay back and only say nice things about the universe. Until the films come out and possibly improve the characters, we are still in the same place.

Was that too realistic and not fantasy enough for you? Lol. What's wrong with batman getting attacked by a couple of dogs? He is BatMAN not BatGOD.
