Comics Ben Reilly: Returning?

I try to keep up with the latest comic information, but honestly this has slipped my mind... A friend at school informed me that, Ben Reilly will be returning... Is there any truth to this assumption? If so, how will he return, and can someone post a source? Thanks in advance...

Id love it if Ben Reilly returned but ive heard nothing about 616 Reilly coming back. Id say Ultimate Reilly is gonna be returning pretty soon, possibly in the next few issues.

I'm pretty sure we're going to get ultimate Ben. There really isn't a place for a Peter clone in the 616 continuity.

Quesada has been saying that by the time his mini with JMS concludes next summer, the Spider-Man will be a lot more like Stan's classic version. Let's think about this logically, if Marvel is intent on returning Spidey back to his roots, reviving Ben Reilly/the Scarlett Spider makes no sense at all. What role would he serve? The whole idea came about b/c Marvel was trying to find a way to make Peter an unmarried character. If Quesada gets his wish next summer, Peter would be single again and all a clone would result in is two Spiderman running around the MU. Not likely.

Your friend may have been talking about the upcoming Clone Saga in Ultimate Spider-Man, which is completely different from the original clone saga in the 90's which heavily featured Ben Reilly, the Scarlet Spider.

I'd love if Ben Reilly, in some superiorly magical way, came back to the books, and I know I wouldn't be alone. But the big boys who make the decisions at Marvel don't even like making references to the events of the clone saga, and when it usually does get mentioned it's a little joke or quip for the fans.

So, for them to bring the regular universe Reilly back would be...like a miracle...depending on how you view it.

Like I've said a bajillion times, the only way 616 Reilly is coming back, is if he's some pissed off vigilante who beats the **** out of Peter now and than kinda like The Red Hood/Winter Soldier

That said, it would be sick, to see a recreation of the, Jason Todd: "How could you let me die!" splash page from Bats 618 using Reilly and Parker

In Ultimate Spidey, Ben Reilly is a fat black guy who was Doc Conner's lab assistant. However at the end of the Carnage arc there was a particular ominous scene where he stole a vial of Peter Parker's blood, which might possibly play into the upcoming Ultimate Clone Saga, which starts in Issue 97

But in all seriousness Ben Reilly suddenly turning evil on that last page of USM 64, with that little smirk was possibly my favorite moment in Ultimate Spider Man. Just one of those things I truly didn't see coming (although all my floor fellows who read, said its was pretty obvious ) Bendis needs to make this guy into USM's first original villian (The first one, that's an actual threat)

Yeah, I really liked that too. And how was it obvious? Didn't seem obvious to me that this lab assistant would bust out with a second sample.

Ever since we saw Reilly take that other sample I've been waiting to see what Bendis does with this.

Which, hopefully, we'll see very soon. But Bendis likes to make people wait for a REALLY REALLY long time when it comes to crap like that.

Much like the Nick Fury line from the Hobgoblin arc about how he plans on taking Pete's powers away from him.

We've got all these sinister things going on and no follow up. If Bendis ever goes on to have other lives...he shouldn't be a doctor.
