We've all argued about the various aspects of the Batman films, but we've never had a poll about which love interest in all 5 theatrical Batman movies is the best. So, here goes: Which girl was the best love interest to Batman, both in looks, characterization, etc.? (There can only be one pick, so choose wisely.)

Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger)
Selena Kyle (Michelle Pfieffer)
Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman)
Julie Madison (Elle MacPherson)
Rachel Dawes (Katie Holmes)

Not a hard choice... Selena Kyle (Michelle Pfieffer)

Bruce loved Vicki, but she didn't love Batman, so that counts her out.

Selina was a soul mate. A perfect girl for him, except that she was too self-destructive and couldn't be saved.

Chase actually saved Bruce's psyche. Technically, she was the perfect girl for him, but once again, she's someone who wouldn't approve of the continuing danger.

Julie was just a fling for the press, really.

Rachel has the fire to match his own, but doesn't like Batman either.

Selina, overall, is the best, but still, there can never truly be a perfect fit for Bruce. For even if Selina wasn't so self-destructive, and accepted the danger, there's no promise that she'd go to the "good" side.

I must be the only person who thinks Kim Basinger was great. She gave Vicki Vale a real honesty and a grounded sense that helped the entire film. Vicki is the stepping stone for the audience to the fantasy of Batman and the Joker. She works really well as a Dorothy character.

Michelle Pfeiffer was obviously magnificent.

Nicole Kidman was also great, feisty yet vulnerable, smart and slinky.

Elle MacPherson did about as well as anyone could with such a nothing role.

Katie Holmes was too restrained, too emotionless. You sense she wants to lecture Bruce all day rather than just be with him. Even her reason for rejecting him at the end is philosophical.

Says who? I'm a big Vale fan. Just 'cause she wasn't his soul mate doesn't mean she wasn't great. I really enjoy the intelligence and the "light" she brings to the film. Her introductory scene with Knox is wonderfully played.

My gosh, this must be the easiest poll ever.

With ease.

Easily Michelle Pfeiffer's Selina Kyle. Her and Keaton had great chemistry together IMO. And she was such a tortured soul too.

I love that about her.

While Kevin is wrong about being the only person who loves Vicki, I think I may very well be the only person in the world who isn't crazy about Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman.

Personally, I'm not a giant fan of any of the love interest, but, of them, Basinger's Vicki has always been my favorite. I think, she did the best with what she was given, and the whole romance played out well enough.

Selena Kyle (Michelle Pfieffer). And Kim Basinger as Vicki Vale comes in second.

I myself picked Vicki Vale. Like the earlier post said, she played off Wayne easily in the first scene they were together. Selena and Bruce had more fire but she was too self-destructive and that would've ended the relationship. Rachel Dawes is also a strong character, but seems out of her element to handle Bruce and the possible dangers.

And let's face it, Basinger is way hotter than the previous four women put together. The only thing about her that annoyed me was her screaming every time she got scared or startled.

Selina Kyle was the best. She was a love interest amnd one of the most amazing villiains, not just a damsel in distress.

I am a Vicky fan too.

Chase Meridian was just an airhead, she never got over her 16. Dunno where she found her psychiatrist diplomma.

McPherson's Julie Madison never actually existed.

Rachel Dawes was so poorly acted that the character is hardly appreciable.

Exactly. :up::up:

I voted for Elle MacPherson, in the best Batman film ever. Joel Schumacher won an oscar for that right? :D

...Just kidding that was f**king s**t. I voted for Michelle Pfeiffer.

I liked Vicki Vale the best.
Catwoman/ Selina Kyle was good, but on the edge of being psychotic.
Chase Meridian and Julie Madison were good eye candy, but meh.
Now Rachel Dawes was a good character and good love interest for Bruce, but the problem I had was the performance of Katie Holmes.

Vicki Vale. She was cute and made me laugh with the whole "I'm only 108 pounds Batman" thing. She seems like someone Bats could settle down with, while Selina is that crazy chick you just have a fling with.

This is me, since Blind Date, facing that Basinger is way hotter than the previous four dozen actresses.

Mmmmm cake icing.

Definately Selina Kyle.

Vicki was great too. But Selina wins this one hands down. I also felt that Keaton had better chemistry with Pfeiffer as well.

I picked Vicki Vale, but I also haven't seen Batman Returns.
