which is the best batmobile from the films?

for me, the tumbler is the best vehicle batman has had. it is designed for one purpose, to fight crime.

the rear jet isn't just for show, it's for boosting. there are no pointless rear bat fins which serve no purpose - rear flaps for breaking are instead used.

the nolan films are about a real world scenario, and batman would not have a batmobile just because it looks good. the tumbler is compact and low to the ground, can smash through objects, repel gunfire, jump rooftops and still look good in a cruel way.

i don't understand the argument that it doesn't resemble a batmobile. aside from being black, it just strikes me as a vehicle only batman would drive.

where do you stand?

Where's the 1966 car that Adam West drove? It counts as a cinematic Batmobile since there was a full length Batman motion picture in-between Seasons 1 and 2.

Anyway, my all time favorite Batmobile is the one that Michael Keaton drove. It was beautifully sleek and meanacing at the same time. The problem that I had with the Val Kilmer and George Clooney Batmobiles where that they were too much of a case of style over substance.

The Christian Bale Batmobile (the Tumbler) is too nondescript for my taste. Part of the appeal of the Batmobile is that it isn't like any other cars out there. That's perhaps one flaw that I have concerning Christopher Nolan's "realistic" approach to Batman.

The Tim Burton Batmobile is the best! The Tumbler would be a close second for me.

The Tumbler. It's just an awesome machine. Burton's 'mobile is good as well.

yes it is. of the remaining batmobiles, this one is the best. it's a batmobile in the classic sense. and yes, it has rear wings, but they are of a sensible size. i love both equally, it really just comes down to mood.

Appearance wise the Burtonmobile is the way to go plus it could do some cool things. However the Tumbler all around has everything an still looks great without looking like a typical Batmobile. If I had to pick one I'd take the Burtonmobile.

The Batmobile from Batman Forever though looks good an I honestly still like it but I hated the B&R Batmobile. No passenger seat an no cover of any kind, what a piece of crap.

Gotta go with the Burton/Keaton Batmobile, followed by the Tumbler.

The tumbler a bit too big and not the right shape, and it has a different name. The tech is really cool though, but the wheels piss me off a tad bit.

Forget the Batman and Robin one, its too colourful

Batman Forever Batmobile kicked ass, the winged spoilers on the back, the sports-car style and the speed, it was cool, and probably the best one to represent the most common form of the Batmobile.

Burton's one was cool, but a little black. All-in-all, it was just a black sports car, but the speed was cool

The 1960's one, for its time, was okay and the best they could probably do. It was a bit slow though.

Batman 89

It's so iconic and cool. It's the ultimate muscle/spy car.

Have to go with the consensus on this, 1989 Batmobile.

Looks: Burtonmobile

Pacticality: Tumbler.

I mean, the Burtonmobile could in no way be used to fight crime. Speed bump, gotta drive up a curb? Nope.

Take corners at fast speeds? Nope.

It can't really do anything. But it does look cool.

agreed.

You could add hydraulics to the 89 batmobile for speed bumps. and the tumbler with it's extreme weight would have to slow down at corners too.

I mean the tumbler has it's realism draw backs too. The street would need to be pretty wide for it go through. There's no way that thing could evade police cars or criminals fast cars. and I doubt it could really jump rooftops as it did in Begins.

Why avoid when it can just ram them out of the way or drive over them?

And the Burtonmobile was pretty wide too.

And the corners thing? All those drifts and power slides you see the Tumbler do are real. ****, the Burtonmobile had to use a tow cable just to get round that corner in the 89 film.

With such a sharp turn, I always felt that was a pretty effective way of giving a pursuer, or pursuer's in this case, the slip.

Especially 20 years ago.

Why no 60's Batmobile? That thing was sweet!:woot:

But Burtonmobile all the way.:cwink:

The 89 mobile. Cause it looks like a proper Batmobile.

Ive sat in it anyways,lol.

Just because of the absence of the 66 mobile, I voted 89, the tumbler is definitely next...I refuse to acknowledge the neon wall climber & one seat convertible used in the other two films

Where's the 66 Adam West Batmobile? That one probably made a bigger impression on me as a kid then most of the recent cars have done for me as an adult. I believe the one in Batman Forever or Batman and Robin looked so wobbly when it drove down the street that the car looked like it was made of jello. Hands down...gotta be the Tumbler. Now that thing looks like a war machine.

I know this for live-action but BTAS & th other animated Batmobiles shoukld been included.

got to say, i'm surprised the tumbler is so far behind in this poll. i suppose it just displays how much people really love the burton batmobile.

How I would rank the live-action Batmobiles from least favorite to favorite:
5. The George Clooney car

4. The Christian Bale car (the Tumbler)

3. The Val Kilmer car

2. The Adam West car

1. The Michael Keaton car
