Now that No Way Home has been released, which is the last major comic book film to be released what in your opinion is the best of the comic book or superhero movie released this year?

It's no Way home and it's not particularly close. I'd say Black Widow and Shang-chi are tied for a relatively distant second.

I just noticed that Let There Be Carnage is missing from the list. Not that many would have voted for it anyway. :o

I knew I forgot one! @flickchick85 can add that before the ‘other’ option on the poll? Now in my defense @Drizzle I think most people already forgot that it exists. :o

Easily NWH is the best, and I LOVED Shang-Chi, which would be my second.

Most disappointing CBM of the year for me is Eternals easily. I don't think Eternals was a bad film by any stretch. I think it was just too jumbled in it's storytelling and lacked a heart that most other MCU films seem to have.

Still havent see almost half in the list.

For now...
My rankings:

1. Shang Chi
2. Black Widow
3. The Suicide Squad
4. Venom 2
5. ZS Justice League

Honorable:

1. Rurouni Kenshin The Beginning
2. Rurouni Kenshin The Final

Of the list, I've only seen ZSJL, but I know this would be my vote even if I'd seen the others. 4 years in the wait & working to get it edited and ready. Totally fulfilled what we knew was there. Shame on WB for their actions & behavior during that 4 year period, particularly upon it's original release and how they treated the Snyder family.

Rant over. Absolutely loved the film & trilogy.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is the clear leader for me with Shang-Chi at #2.

1 Eterenals
2 Spiderman: No Way Home
---------------------------------------
3 Shang Chi
4 Snyders Justice League
5 Black Widow
6 Suicide Squad
---------------------------------------
---------------------------------------
---------------------------------------
7 Venom 2

Didnt watch Kingsman.

I was very positively surprised by Shang-Chi and it would have been the clear best if No Way Home hadn't swept in at the end. It's not a blow out, and Shang-Chi still have things it's the best at this year, but the way NWH managed to use its special elements for some proper emotional storytelling just isn't beat this year.

There are a couple I haven't seen yet (Venom and ZSJL) but seeing how I viewed their predecessors I can't imagine that I'd put them anywhere near the top, so that's why I feel I can make my decision at this point without being unfair.

I wasn't wowed by any of them but No Way Home is the obvious choice, if only because a movie like that was able to get made. The most fanservice-y cbm ever made.

I quite liked Shang Chi consistently the best from start to finish, thought Eternals was fine, and disliked Black Widow. The latter is bottom MCU for me right next to Iron Man 2.

Strangely I was disappointed by Suicide Squad despite the positive buzz. The movie never grabbed me at all, and it made me realize I don't like Gunn's humor. If for nothing else it's a masterpiece compared to the 2016 movie.

Spider-Man: No Way Home. Easily

Yeah. NWH is up there with Black Panther for best Marvel film. Shang Chi is one of the best too, but it’s not quite to the level of those two (but I might have it top 5 all-time) so my 2021 top 2 are 1. NWH; 2. Shang Chi.

my #3 would be suicide squad. Other than ZSJL, I didn’t see the others, but I suspect some of them would unseat that movie. I didn’t hate ZSJL, but I definitely didn’t like it. And I think that I like the theatrical cut better. Nothing against those who loved it, though. It’s just not my preferred take on these characters.

I feel like the year began and ended strongly. Personally I thought Zack Snyder's Justice League was amazing, epic and cathartic and it was nice to see that overall it ended up being the director's best received work. Then the year got a bit bumpy, Black Widow was meh, I REALLY liked The Suicide Squad but audiences didnt care for it, Shang Chi was a pleasant surprise, Venom 2 was....well it was Venom 2 and the Eternals was a complete uninteresting snoozefest and Marvel's first critical failure.

But then, just like he's always bound to do, in the 11th hour Spidey came swinging in to save the day with an absolutely incredible film that knocked my socks off and wasnt expecting it to.

So NWH and ZSJL are the winners of 2021 for me. Both amazing, epic films for totally different reasons.

No Way Home.

If I were to rank 2021 films then:

1. No Way Home
2. The Suicide Squad
3. Shang Chi
4. Zack Snyder Justice League
5. Venom Let There Be Carnage

6. Black Widow

7. Eternals

1) NWH ---- Kinda dumb, kinda sloppy, but undeniably special and magical. (8/10)
2) ZSJL ---- Ditto^^^ (7.5/10)
3) Shang Chi ---- Kinda fresh, kinda familiar. (7/10)
4) Suicide Squad ----- Funny, but I didn't vibe with the style very much (6.5/10)
5) BW------ Loved ScarJo as BW for the first time in this. But the rest sucks. Yelena included. (6/10)

Haven't seen the rest.

This is pretty much my ranking as well. Venom Let There Be Carnage was a really dumb flick too, but damn did I have a blast watching upon my first viewing.
