Which version of Elfman's immortal theme do you like best?

The opening theme tune over the credits of Batman

The opening credits theme of Batman 89 is classic. :bat:

BR. It bodes perfectly with the film's darker tone. It has a more haunting, almost tragic feel to it, fitting since BR was a more haunting, almost tragic Batman movie.

"other"

the suit up themes for BOTH 89 and returns are absolutley stunning. (minus the catwoman junk in the returns scene)

I love the Returns opening. It's just haunting. I love the build up as we follow the pram in the sewer. When the Batman theme kicks in it's just greater.

On a completely irrelevant topic, I love how it starts off in the sewer, and concludes there too. Knowing this makes the opening music more effective, because it sounds like sad music.

The opening is classic but I love the variation from Returns.

I enjoyed the buildup to Batman Returns. However, it seems Elfman went with a smaller orchestra, the power of B'89 is simply lacking in Returns. The main title doesn't resonate as well in the sequel as it did in the original

I'll say the theme during the opening credits of Batman. Danny Elfman is a genius.

I prefer Descent Into Mystery which was played while Batman and Vicki Vale traveled to the Batcave. The scenes of the Batmobile soaring down the street in the forest was classic.

Returns! The Returns score was superior to the B89 one, although that was already brilliant...

I envy every person who got to experience Batman and Batman Returns in the theaters. You lucky, lucky bastards. :p

I prefer the music at the end where you see Batman looking over the Bat-Signal.

That was cool, it sounded really heroic.

I got to see Returns in theaters (I was five, still remember it too). Didn't scare or damage my fragile psyche, so all those soccer moms should have shut up

i saw em both. i was just about to turn 8 when i saw B89, so i was a batman newbie. loved the character and mythology ever since. i remember who i saw it with, where, (ignorant) comments made during and after the movie: "that's the joker w/o his make-up", "bruce and vickie are gonna have a son and he's gonna be robin".

i can't really remember much about seeing BR, though...

I voted for the opening credits to Batman Returns, but really I loved all of Elfman's work on the first two Batman films.

Am I the only who prefers the closing credits? lol. Well, anyway, Danny Elfman did an AMAZING job with both films. And I do prefer Decent Into Mystery, Attack of the Batwing, and Finale over the opening and closing credits. MOST OF THE TIME its the other pieces in the film that are superior to the opening in Danny Elfman films. He kind of does that in purpose. To Elfman, the opening credits its to set up the mood for the film. The other pieces of music in the film are the real themes, emotional music, etc.
