james bond but not because i like him the best but because HES FREAKIN SURVIVED 21 MOVIES!!

Star Wars
Indiana Jones
Back to the Future
LOTR
James Bond

I'm torn between:

Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, James Bond, Spider-man, Pirates and Harry Potter.

Potter has had five great films. Bond has had a bunch of good movies. All three Pirates movies were enjoyable (mostly Black Pearl and At World's End) and Lord of the Rings were great.

I'll knock Indiana Jones, Spider-man, and Pirates off until I see their fourth installments, to see if they have the same longevity that Potter, Star Wars and Bond have had. I'll have to give it, as of now- to Star Wars. With Harry Potter in second.

I enjoy the Spider-man Films and the Pirates films more than the Star Wars and Bond films (save Casino Royale) but in this case, in terms of franchise, Star Wars is a legend.

Although I consider Lord of the RIngs the best trilogy the Star Wars franchise is BY FAR the best franchise of all-time.

Star Wars
James Bond
Indiana Jones
Harry Potter
Back to the Future

My favorites. LOTR and Pirates get honorable mentions. How Fantastic 4, Ghostusters(both only 2 films) and TMNT get on that list is beyond me.

so far....Star Wars....

...but the king can always be dethroned.

Not anytime soon.

Star Wars has been around for 30 years now. Revolutionalized the industry, special effects and blockbusters. Is stretched out in every type of media, music, books, video games, toys, etc. It is the bench mark.

Even if there is a franchise that makes more money than Star Wars it will be pretty hard to come to the same level of cultural impact.

Star wars is simply the best!

HEY Erzengel I like your dancing Yoda ...... deja vu?

Just based on movies though.

Depending on the quality of the next Indiana Jones movie, that has a secured #2 spot under Star Wars.

I would say Lord of the Rings is #3 which I would love to see the Hobbit, however Harry Potter has delivered 4 times already with a possible 5 (I have yet to see the Order of the Phoenix). So I could possibly say Potter will be #3.

Yeah I think I've had this avatar the longest, it seems to be the most popular.

My only regret about star wars it that lucas should have done 2 movies for the prequel and the last one after the return of the jedi with a new crew and cameo appearances of luke skywalker and Han solo

Agreed on all levels.

Lord Of The Rings.
Star Wars.
Harry Potter.
Pirates Of The Caribbean.
Spiderman.

Indiana Jones is my favorite trilogy of all-time, and is a huge franchise, but to not bow down to Star Wars in this thread would be a crime (and I'm not even a big SW fan).

Star Wars is like a monolith over the landscape of cinema.

HP is the only franchise that I've actually liked every one of the movies and the last two books were great, so I'm counting on the last two to be incredible.
