What are some of your favorite games from the 16-bit era?
I had a Genesis as a kid so a lot of my favorites are from that console.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Yeah, this one is a no brainer. Sonic 1 was my introduction to the series but Sonic 2 brought so much more to the table. The spin dash, Tails, Super Sonic, the Tornado, the Death Egg, Metal Sonic. Rented this game a dozen times as a kid.
Rocket Knight Adventures
Konami really knocked it out of the park with this one. In some respects, This game actually made Sonic look a little inferior by comparison. A really fun hack n slash/platformer. The jetpack bonus missions, boss battles, music and challenging difficulty made this one a real gem.
Tiny Toon Advrntures: Buster's Hidden Treasure
For a game based off a cartoon series, Konami really did a phenomemal job with this simple platformer. Graphics are bright, colorful and cartoony. Lots of music cues from the TV show and a world map that reminds me of Super Mario World on SNES.
