I was slightly dissapointed by what we got in IM, but i enjoyed the action scene's for what they were, although all of them were too brief for my liking, but i have had a hard time figuring out which one i liked the most, and i'm curious to see what other people think.

So, which action scene did you enjoy the most?

Iron Man vs. Iron Monger. Not that great but still the best action sequence in the movie.

And I don't if revenge is the motivation that brings Stark back to Irak. He goes there to destroy the weapons. If there hadn't been any weapons in there, he would have done nothing.

eh, looking at it this way, iron man isn't really a film you'll remember for the action sequences....

tis a shame considering the cgi was generally very good.

I chose the scene with the jets, because I love seeing Iron Man fly. But it's a pretty close race. I liked the Mark I because it was his first fight where he completely owned his enemies; and I liked the Afghanistan scene, because of that beginning uppercut, and the display of repulsor blasts. The fight with Iron Monger was pretty cool, but in the theater I was in, you couldn't really follow the fighting very well(the picture quality could have been better).

For me it was when iron man goes back to stop the terrorists using his weapons. I really loved that whole scene, from the part when you see him suit up for the first time!

This is a close one for me, between IM going back and fighting or the IM and Monger fight, I have now decided the scene when he goes back. That is pure IM right there and it looked great.

The middle east scene kick @$$ especially when he punch the gunman and made him do a backflip into the wall, also the part when he did the shoulder missles thing now that was Hot.!!:word:

Oh yeah ! But I may have voted for the flying test scene if it had been on the list. :)

For me its very simple: Iron man versus the terrorists, everything about it the badass landing(with hero pose and all) the first punch and using his use of the repulsor ray. The whole scene was iconic and very exciting.

I love the scene where Iron Man escapes from the cave in the Mark I Armour. but all the other action scenes were great also.

I know it is part of the Middle East sequence, but the battle with the tank, although brief, is fantastic as well.

I'd give the fight with Iron Monger a slight edge, just because it was the climax and I love one-on-one brawls, but the revenge on the terrorists wasn't far behind.

I voted for the scene where Iron Man goes back and takes down the terrorists too! When he used that aiming program and took out those terrorists with the shoulder darts the whole audience yelled "OHHHH!" and roared their approval. Great stuff!

He didn't return for "revenge." Watch the movie again.

Agreed, they were lacking definately. Chose the escape from the cave, that scene had the most tension and emotion IMO.

The sequence with the jets...no doubt.

This thread has made me realize that the best parts of this movie weren't even the action scenes. It was everything in between, such as the scenes of Tony building his suit, dialogue scenes with Stane and Rhodes, or scenes of Tony with Pepper.

That just goes to show you how smart and evoking this movie was. It wasn't all about blowing things up.

Precisely why it's so highly reviewed and scored...brilliant writing, that hopefully follows onto the next film.

It's the same with Batman Begins, IMO. People didn't love the movie because of the action. It was all the stuff in between. It's somewhat the opposite with the Spider-Man movies. People enjoyed the movies primarily for the action sequences, but not so much for the dialogue or character scenes.
