Srry if there already is a thread, but excluding the new reboot, what is ur favorite friday the 13th movie?

Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives!

just good old fashioned mass murdering, unstoppable beast taking out dirty camp councelors and any poor bastard that happen upon him. the only thing that would have made it better would be nudity and kane hodder as jason in the make-up and costume from part VII.

Friday the 13th Part II. My favorite Jason. Hockey Mask Jason is always chosen, and I feel hillbilly Jason is always forgotten about. He was the first adult Jason we see, and to me is the best. But if I picked a Hockey Mask Jason, I'm picking Part 8 Jason. Not the film itself, but the Jason with his mask on (not without it, because it looked dumb).

But yeah, Part II.

The one I just got back from a couple hours ago.

Okay, I take back my statement about Part 2. Derek Mears' Jason was definatly the best in the Friday13th films. He was awesome as Jason and looked freaking bad ass to the bone.

that's awesome to hear, looking forward to seeing this tomorrow. does Mears really top Kane Hodder's super pissed Jason?

In my opinion, yes. Here's why, Hodder played what is called, 'zombie' Jason. A tough, stiffed, almost super-human type version. Hodder was good for that, but what Mears does is go back to that 'classic' Jason from 2-4, where Jason was more human than super, but has a bit of personality that you see but is also very secure with himself. Comparing the two is hard, because both play Jason very differently and two different Jason's so to speak.

I prefer Derek Mears Jason over Hodders, because I like that take on Jason as being human, not a zombie that is characterless.

Jason and the Argonauts Part 9: Jason Goes To Hell

Then they ruined it with Jason and the Argonauts X, where they went to space.

i agree i dont care for Jason X

I have a friend who swears X is the best and I really am afraid to be his friend knowing this information. haha. I watched X once and said I'll never watch that again and I have kept my word. It was horrible. Hyper-Jason?? That's what they came up with?

Jason X was hilarious, and that's why it's awesome.

Jason X was WAY better than Jason Goes to Hell.
I actually like Jason X, Uber-Jason and all. It wasn't that much different than the others, minus being on a spaceship and the technology. It was Jason, stalking and killing a group of people, just a different setting really.

My favourites are 4 and 6, but Hodder is my favourite Jason. I guess I like the "zombie" Jason more. The way he moves, the body and head movements, the forcefullness all makes it for me.

i really love Hodder, and think that even though he played "zombie Jason", that he had the most personality of anyone that came before him. not only the fact that Jason always came across as super pissed, which i dig, but little moments like lifting his mask in part 8 to scare those kids in new york.

Agree with all your points to a tee! To the point I don't even feel the need to add in my own two cent. But I have good and bad points about all the films. I was a bigger F13 fan as a teen than I am now.

I'm an unapologetic Kane Hodder Jason fan.

I tried watching the first one, couldn't sit through it. Ironically, the only other one I've tried to watch is Jason X, and actually kind of liked it.

Part 3 and the remake have the best Jasons, imo. I like Hodder and all, but I don't think he really brought as much to the role as people give him credit for.

I certainly find Jason X more watchable than Goes to Hell, so I have to agree with you there.

For me, my top 5 goes like this:

Friday the 13th Part 3
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
Friday the 13th (2009)
Friday the 13th (1980)
Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives

Jason X was still Jason. Jason goes to Hell was The Hidden guest starring Jason Voorhees and the chick from Buck Rogers.

Jason in parts 3 and 4 were my favs. Not robotic, alot more lively and human. Plus I found him to be the creepiest in those two movies.

Random Question:

Is Jason a different person in each movie?
