I'm adding a poll on who is the best villain in a MCU move thus far. The options are only for the MAIN antagonist of the movie, no side villains or henchmen included.

If you like, you can rank them as well.

I wouldn't call Laufey the main villain of Thor. It's very much Loki.

1) Killmonger
2) Hela
3) Thanos

Bucky is hardly the main villain of Winter Soldier. The big bad there is Alexander Pierce. :p

Likewise, the main villain of TIH is General Ross. :p

Nitpicking aside, Thanos.

I wish we could put Kingpin on this list. He'd be number 1 easily.

1. Mysterio
2. Hela
3. Zemo

I chose to ignore Thanos because he's been behind the scenes for most of the first three phases. I wanted to count just the "stand alone" villains.

Gonna have to be Thanos for me, chief.

Runner-up would probably be Loki in the first Thor and the first Avengers before he turns into more of an uneasy ally.

Also to be anal and nitpicky, Laufey is not the main villain of the first Thor, Loki is, and The Winter Soldier is not the main villain of The Winter Soldier, Alexander Pierce is. Also I hesitate to even classify TWS as a "villain" considering he's basically a brainwashed slave.

Thanos of Infinity War is by far the best MCU villain. Unfortunately he was incredibly underwhelming in Endgame. Loki comes second but it's another case of a big threat-level decline in subsequent movies.

So I voted for Mysterio that probably had the most solid appearance overall and didn't have time for a drop in quality.

Thanos
Zemo

Vulture
Killmonger
Ego

But not Tyler Hayward though. That guy sucked.
I mean, he was perfectly functional in his role. He just was ultimately a side story, the kind of villain who mainly exists to create complications and unleash things beyond his control.

Love: Zemo, Thanos, Loki, Killmonger, Vulture, Mysterio, Agatha

Like: Hela, Ego, Iron Monger, A. Pierce, Ghost

Voted for Zemo. Hopefully the show makes him even more interesting and understandable, and it doesn’t turn him into a generic villain.

My favourites:

Thanos
Hela
Loki
Winter Soldier
Ego
Killmonger
Mysterio

1) Thanos
2) Killmonger
3) Hydra
4) Mysterio
5) Ego

I think Hydra should be considered the villain of TWS when you consider how iconic "hail Hydra" became.

Also I'd say Killmonger and Mysterio seem a bit underrated.

But I agree with the consensus that Thanos in Infinity War was incredible. Making him sypathetic, the main character, and a force of nature was all a stroke of genius.

Man, I love that movie.

Infinity War Thanos. It's so one sided it's not even funny. Dude literally murdered half the universe. Can't get much more diabolical than that. Killmonger and Loki round out my top three.

Agreed about Pierce but Ross is an antagonist, not a villain. He provided Blonsky with the tools to becoming a monster but he never intended for him to charge in and start murdering innocent people in Harlem.

No, but he was totally fine with treating a human being as property to be imprisoned, experimented on, and disposed of as he so fit. Even aside from his various acts of recklessness and later deeds, Thaddeus Ross was totally a villain. *The* villain of the movie.

It's subjective but Ross did learn his lesson by the end of that movie, even directing his soldiers to help Hulk in the end battle. I'd say he's more Lawful Neutral than Lawful Evil. He still remained an a-hole through Civil War and beyond, but if he were really a villain, would he have been at Tony Stark's funeral at the end of Endgame? Standing 4o feet from Banner, no less?
