Since my 1997 movie thread didn't turn out well, I'm going to make one more 'movie of the year' thread. So out of these 10 movies from 1996, which one is the best? And if your favorite movie of that year is missing, feel free to share it anyways :yay:

Batman Returns.

Casablanca!

Is no one seriously getting irritated by these pointless and, not to mention, misplaced threads?

Best Film - Fargo
Best Film Runner Up - Sleepers

Best Blockbuster - Mission Impossible
Blockbuster Runner Up - Star Trek: First Contact

I hope 'Barb Wire' enjoys it's one solitary positive moment in the spotlight.

What was wrong with the '97 thread? I remember it went OK.

From the '96 films polled, Scream. But other treats include: Beautiful Girls, 2 Days in the Valley, The Craft, The Day A Pig Fell Into a Well, Fargo, Branaagh's Hamlet, A Summer's Tale, Long Kiss Goodnight, Temptress Moon, Microcosmos, Ponette, Trainspotting, Stealing Beauty, Goodbye South Goodbye, Mahjong.

There were quite a few films I regarded highly from 1996 (great year in films), and here are some of them, in no particular order: Eraser, Independence Day, The Phantom, Dragonheart, Star Trek: First Contact, Space Jam, Set It Off, the Long Kiss Goodnight, The Rock, The Nutty Professor, Mission: Impossible, A Time to Kill, Mars Attacks!

Fargo
The Long Kiss Goodnight
Sleepers
From Dusk till Dawn

Scream
Trainspotting
Mission Impossible
Jingle All The Way
Romeo + Juliet
