I believe that scores in movies can contribute a lot to movies and sometimes I find scores so good I listen to them more than I watch the movie! Some of my favorites are:

28 Days Later
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
There Will Be Blood
The Fountain
Sunshine
And I know this isn't a score but the soundtrack for Snatch is SO good I had to add it.

Anybody else have any favorites?

Everything John Williams... beside we have a thread on this somewhere... John Williams blows everything else out of the water.

Batman Begins
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Edward Scissorhands
The Fountain
Requiem For A Dream
Halloween

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford has one of the best scores ever. Imo.

Ya I really enjoyed Sunshine,28days later..then the classics like star wars, halloween.
I also enjoyed The DeVinci Code,King Kong.

Back to the Future and anything John Williams has done

Pan's Labyrinth
Atonement
Yes it's not a score, but the soundtrack to Magnolia is :up:.

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis' The Proposition and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Can't wait to hear what they do next (The Road)

As much as it pains me to say it, LOTR had an excellent score that worked perfectly.

Theres a class at my school called Music in Film. Its excellent. LOTR and John Williams are usually the examples given in class because my teacher says they are the only ones he can count on for the most people to be familiar with. That probably says something about their worth I suppose

28 Days Later

This is kinda funny because my Music in Film teacher used this as an example saying that while the songs are good they dont seem to have much use in the film. He asked for theories from the class and got a bunch of good ones but he didnt seem convinced by any of them. I thought he was being a little stubborn about the whole thing.

Danny Elfman has done a lot of really good scores.
Also, even though it's a soundtrack, The Royal Teneaums is incredible, the music is a perfect fit for the movie.

Indiana Jones
Jaws
Back To The Future
Batman
James Bond
Halloween
The Godfather
Signs

Just about everything done by Ennio Morricone and John Williams.

The Godfather - Nino Rota
Batman - Danny Elfman
Batman Begins - Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard
Darkman - Danny Elfman
Planet of the Apes (remake) - Danny Elfman
The Fly (remake) - Howard Shore
Hellbound - Christopher Young
Gremlins - Jerry Goldsmith
Gremlins 2 - Jerry Goldsmith
Die Hard - Michael Kamen
Lethal Weapon - Michael Kamen

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford has one of the best scores ever. Imo.

It's such a riveting and haunting score, isn't it?

And I'd like to vote Braveheart for this thread. Wonderful score combined with an even better film.

These are some of my favourite (in order)

Serenity
Wing Commander
Batman Returns
Batman '89

Some of my favorites:
