I may be in a majority here but i like to get movie sound tracks that have the movie score to it. Thaught i would make a poll on the best muical score. Do forgive me should i run out of room for a score people liked but i missed. Believe i would like to post more then 25 but thats what i got.
I sometimes get the poppier music band cd's but i like to get the score and its not that ii like chore or that type of music it kinda takes me back to my favorite movies. Again if or favorite score is not a choice then feel free to vote other and share.

The Passion of the Christ.

Out of the ones on the list, Kong Kong. The entire Empire State Building sequence and the Central Park theme are beautiful, and the V-Rex fight is about as exhilerating as movie music gets.

i voted S:TM

but i think indy's theme, Superman March, and Darth Vaders march are all great

Why Last Crusade and no Raiders? Raiders has a complete soundtrack available whereas Last Crusade doesn't, and plus its a better score. Ditch the crap scores no one cares about, like King Kong and Pirates (blech!)

The Empire Strikes Back. John Williams is a God on Earth.

They're all so good, I can't pic just one.

Jurrassic Park. I just really love that main theme. Really difficult to chose though.

MMPR the movie. No really it is the most epic score I have ever heard. I let people listin to it all the time and they always think its lord of the rings.

You know, I just glanced down the poll and realized there is NOTHING on there from Bernard Herrman. How sickening.

Kingdom of Heaven...brilliant music! just brilliant!

It seems like this list is all films with music that's entertaining to listen to on its own. Herrmann's scores were perfect for the film, but that doesn't translate to something that you want to actually sit and listen to by itself like Indiana Jones or Lord of the Rings. IMO, that means Herrmann was a great Film Composer, but his scores were not necessarily the best indepently of film.

With something of a compromise in mind, I'd say Last Crusade (though I am extremely biased in that regard). Most appropriate to the film is probably Vertigo. My favorite standalone music is the Jurassic Park Main Themes, but that doesn't mean it's the best.

Also, I'm not normally one to **** on others opinions but to whoever said Die Another Day, come on. Think about what you just voted for.

Edit: Also, I wouldn't really call V for Vendetta's score original. Half of it was arrangements and variations of the 1812 Overture (which already uses like 4 preexisting themes. Don't get me wrong, I love Tchiakovsky. Just saying). Not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination, but also not an Original Score. More adapted.

Indiana Jones Star Wars LOTR clearly outdo everything... throw is Jurrasic Park's theme... and Apollo 13... my favorites right there...

A lot of good ones, hard to narrow it down :/ I'm going with Gladiator, Maximus' death scene and the score playing in the background is my favorite, stirs up some emotion :) I also enjoy the Armageddon and Con-Air score, but that would probably void this post for some people lol

I'd say whatever movies that had Danny Elfman's or Joseph LoDuca's music featured are good in my book. Those guys are two of my favorite composers and they're music added so much to cinema music. Danny Elfman working with Tim Burton for most of the time and LoDuca worked with Sam Raimi for Army of Darkness. The composers did just a good a job with their music as did the directors with their directing.

Also, John Carpenter did some great music for his movies. I could go on, but I won't.

"The Adventures Of Robin Hood" from 1938. Winner of Best Oscar for Film Score. Composed by the greatest of them all: Eric Wolfgang Korngold. The perfect matching of images to music. The perfect score and one of the most influential.

Not my favorite composer, but I'm fond of Korngold. My reading for my Music and Film class about Aaron Copland (who I really like too) is painful because all they do is ***** about Korngold and how Copland rebelled against his style of music.

Also about the class, I love it, but if I have to analyze another Max Steiner score I will strangle someone.

you know what else isnt there i just realized...Gladiator
