I was watching The Goonies the other day and I begin to wonder what is Spielberg non directed film. I would say Animaniacs or Tiny Toons but those aren't films unless you count the DTV's but I would say Who Framed Roger Rabbit and the BTTF trilogy is some of best non-directed work.

Arachnophobia!

Roger Rabbit isn't very Spielberg-esque IMO, but BttF certainly is.

BIG? Didn't he let his sister direct it or something?

Poltergeist he supposedly didn't direct....in the way Lucas didn't direct Return of the Jedi....

great movie. Back to the Future, Gremlins, Men in Black, Amistad and Memoirs of a Geisha are very good as well.

I haven't seen it yet, but I think transformers is produced by Spielberg too.

You could have just named this thread Best Amblin Production! Well, anyway, Back to the Future is the best!

He almost directed POTC Curse of the Black Pearl.

I don't know what influence Steven had on BttF but I know he was first offered to produce it and the only one in Hollywood who wanted to see it made. No studio would back it. Disney was close but did not want the "incest" part in the movie. Zemeckis and Gale have a hit and then everyone in Hollywood wants to do BttF and of course they get Steven involved since he was the only one who believed in it.

Spielberg also ditched the initial plan of the time machine being a fridge because he was worried kids would copy it and get stuck in fridges.

agreed. i'd love to see him tackle TF2 w/Bay as the action consultant.

Actually, that would be great--Bay has always been best with the action stuff, and Spielberg's best with drama, so combining the two would make for a perfect balance.

Back to the Future hands down.
Thats SUCH a speilberg flick. And most people(non geek) don't even know it was Zemekis.

I can't believe no one else here liked Roger Rabbit besides me and the op :(

Roger rabbit is a classic and wonderfully crafted film, the ending does let me down a little, but either way, it's definately a great film.
