Best Superhero Trilogy

This is the reply SHH needed, but not the one SHH deserved.

LOL ! :yay:

Come on Spider-Aziz, lines like that can't be paraphrased or mocked enough. It's pure gold. I had a professor once, who's name was Dean Knight, and you can guess what little quote I paraphrased on his teaching
evaluation. Ah, memories.

If you think that one gets overused, you should check out all the memes
that came out of " ....and then everyone loses their minds !"

That is unexpectedly funny
Prof happens to be related to Wayne Knight?

It's amazing how each of these trilogies, without fail, has one absolutely terrible entry

it makes choosing the best full trilogy so difficult
Dark Knight, X-men, And Spider-man all totally botched what they had going with their third parts
Iron Man had a serious misstep in the middle
and Blade had a tv-movie quality throwaway film at the end there.
I really just don't know...

It's sad playing this game because TDK trilogy pretty much wins by default. It's the only one that got to a third entry without significant creative compromise. I'm sure this would be much more interesting if Singer got to do his X3, Raimi didn't have Venom forced upon him, if anyone bothered to write a script for Iron Man 2, and if Blade 3 was made about Blade and not an ill-conceived spin-off for Ryan Reynolds.

1. The Dark Knight
2. Spider-Man
3. Iron Man
4. X-Men

Never saw any of the Blade movies.

Thanks ! Unexpectedly funny is what I was going for.

Anyway, I live in New Zealand, so it's unlikely they're related.
He was a Public Law (it's called administrative law
in the US and Canada) Professor.

Anyway, on his teaching evaluation I wrote.....

"He's the Judicial Review lecturer that we needed,
and the one we deserved.
He's a watchful academian, a verbose protector,
a Dean Knight."

His was an enjoyable part of a very dull course.
Judicial review is one of the things that keeps democracy
functioning.

Anyway, you could start a thread on the best and worst
ending lines of super-hero movies.

That whole promises you break being the best kind, from
ASM would be my worst (but I'm a big fan of Raimi's original
trilogy, I'd take SM 3 over ASM any day).

"This is my gift, my curse. Who am I, I'm Spider Man."

Now that's how you end a spider-man movie !

Although I had to laugh when Eric Bana said "You won't like
me when I'm angry." in Spanish at the end of Ang Lee's Hulk.
But I really enjoyed the film.

The Loki ending of Thor TDW was pretty good too, the best
Marvel ending in ages.

My favourite from 2013 would be "Welcome to the Planet"
"Glad to be here Lois."

Cheers !

The Dark Knight Trilogy is the best for me. Not because it's the perfect, brilliant, unassailable work of deep, profound art that some of it's more ardent proponents claim it is, but because all of the movies are at least "good." Iron Man 2 is mediocre, Spider-Man 3 and X-3 are poor, and The Blade films are glorified B-movies.

If I were going to rank all of the films in these trilogies...

1. The Dark Knight
2. Spider-Man 2
3. Iron Man
4. X-2: X-Men United
5. Spider-Man
6. Batman Begins
7. Iron Man 3
8. The Dark Knight Rises
9. X-Men
10. Iron Man 2
11. Spider-Man 3
12. Blade II
13. Blade
14. X-3: X-Men United
15. Blade: Trinity

Wesley Snipes has some of the best lines in those movies.

"Some mother******s always tryin' to ice skate uphill"

Even the tragic third one has some great lines, Actually i wouldn't say tragic they just dropped the ball badly with that one. Someone on here said the blade films are B Movies (true). Its one of those films were u leave your head at the door and take it for what it is (hardcore action with blood, violence and a quality soundtrack (mainly 1 and 2) I compare it with the newer Dredd film , gives off the same type of vibe when you want a anti-hero to not take any **** and put foes in there place.

Oh and the best is the TDK Trilogy. Those 3rd films are really some curseful ****.

I rank Spider-Man above Nolan's trilogy, because even though I think The Dark Knight is the best superhero movie, Rises was such a piece of garbage, that it makes Spider-Man 3 look good. Iron man was great, but 2 was pretty bad, and 3 was just decent.

If I were to rank the ones I've seen

The Dark Knight- 9.7/10
Spider-Man 2- 9.5/10
Iron Man- 9/10
X-Men 2-8.7/10
Spider-Man- 8.5/10
Batman Begins- 8.3/10
Iron Man 3- 8.2/10
X-men- 7.5/10
Spider-Man 3- 6/10
Iron Man 2- 5/10
The Dark Knight Rises- 2/10

I haven't seen the Blade Trilogy or X3, but I doubt it will change my current opinion.

Depends if you like anti heroes and vampires also a black dude as the main hero rubs people up the wrong way.

Rises is galaxies ahead of Spider-Man 3. It isn't even a close call.

Ratings for each film in the trilogies

Blade: 7.5, 7.5, 1
X-Men: 7.5, 8, 3
Spidey: 7.5, 7.5, 3
Dark Knight: 8.5, 8, 8
Iron Man: 8, 4.5, 7

Average Trilogy ratings

Dark Knight - 8.17
Iron Man - 6.50
X-Men - 6.17
Spidey: 6.0
Blade - 5.33

TDK Trilogy wins by default. Not a whole lot of consistency in this genre, that's for sure. Damn shame.

I enjoyed the first two Thor movies a lot and hoping a third one can beat the typical trilogy curse. Also hoping the Avengers can have a good trilogy.

TDK Trilogy
Iron Man Trilogy
Spider-Man Trilogy

IMO, although SM2 is still one of the best SH movies ever, and SM1 is still great (SM3 is okay), I prefer IM/IM3 over SM1/SM3....and the other two way over IM2. (Which is also okay.)

The Dark Knight - 10/10
The Dark Knight Rises - 10/10
Batman Begins - 9/10
Spider-man 2 - 9/10
X2: X-Men United - 9/10
Iron Man - 8/10
X-Men - 8/10
Spider-man - 8/10
Iron Man 3 - 7/10
Blade - 7/10
Blade II - 7/10
Iron Man 2- 6/10
X-Men: The Last Stand - 6/10
Spider-man 3 - 5/10
Blade: Trinity - 3/10

The Dark Knight Trilogy: 10/10
X-Men: 8/10
Spider-man: 7/10
Iron Man: 7/10
Blade: 6/10

For consistency...

1.Dark Knight
2.Blade Trilogy
3.Superman (Director's Cut)/Superman II (Richard Donner Cut)/Superman Returns

:cwink:

1. The Dark Knight Trilogy
2. X-Men Trilogy
3. Spider-Man Trilogy
4. Iron Man Trilogy
5. Blade Trilogy

Rises is galaxies ahead of Spider-Man 3. It isn't even a close call.

Meh. Not for me. They're both flawed and serious drops from preceding quality. Rises is probably better, but I enjoy SM3 more.

Universes. There's nothing like the street dancing or the kitchen twist in TDKR. The only movie I remember having such atrocities is Batman & Robin.
