Spaceballs would work so much better if you just took indiviual scenes and every week shown them on a variety show because it'd be hilarious. However, Spaceballs suffers from a terrible narrative structure, poor characters, and terrible pacing, which leads to a very dull and boring movie, which is so wierd since it's very funny.

Spider-Man 2 wins simply because it's an entertaining movie, even if it's a little cheesy

I think it's a funny movie, but it's boring, you can say that it's just a comedy but you need characters and a story for a movie to float... Which Mel Gibson usually does in spades... The Producers, Max Biallystock and Leo Bloom are two of the greatest characters ever!
