In what ways can they get people to buy less bootlegs and see it in theatres or buy the real DVD?

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

arrest the people who are stupid enough to waste their money on a bootleg where you can barely hear the movie, you have a blurry picture and people talking and moving around in front of the picture the whole time.

A good enough solution, for those who buy the bootlegs. What about those lucky SOBs that get them for free-should they get the same punishment, or worse?

EITC is the best way to stop bootlegging.

How about the government should just let it be/not really giving a shyit about it. There are worse to worry about than pirated films and music, let alone the fact that everyone behind film and music are rich enough.

actauly i've never seen a bootleg anywhere near as bad as they're supposed to look:huh:

Install something in every theatre that switches off electrical equipment when entering the screening room. That way all mobile phones and video cameras etc would not function properly, therefore no pirated copies can be made.

Of course this would have an effect on those people who need things like pacemakers etc but it would certainly stop the piracy

OMG! Anthony needs a banning...FREAKING TEN THREADS EVERY 30 SECONDS!! BAN HIM!!!!! PLEASE!

it sounds like you'd like to have them arrested for stupidity rather than for purchasing a bootleg. also, bootlegs cost about $3 so it's not as though it's a huge waste of money.

me neither. you can usually find some good quality copies on the torrent sites.

in order to stop bootlegs from the theater you have to offer something that's watchable ONLY in a theater...like 3d movies.

as for stopping bootleg dvd's.....good luck with that...

Movie industry is still making bank!!! Need to focus more on the music buz!

Considering the box office is breaking records this year, are bootlegged DVDs really that big of a problem?

Is it possible for a day to go by, and Anthony not make a thread?

THe easiest way to go about it is a couple of ways... First off studios should get with the reality that piracy is going happen, however that it's more than just piracy, it's more of a hobby for most people, and that the true pirates have a community, with it's own rules. What tehy should be targeting is to keep the piraters stuff frmo going beyond there groups. So they should somehow figure out a way to very quietly, let the piraters be, but get the piraters to shut everyone else out of there community, and close it of to a couple hundred thousand people isntead of millions. The second way is make better movies, improve the theatre experience, why should people leave there god-damn homes to go see a movie? And lastly make better movies and people will go see it:cwink:

Lower DVD prices
Lower movie theatre prices

Yyeeeeaaaahhhh...how would this help when a lot of people get theirs for free?

Public Executions.

Anything short of that and people wont give a **** about the consequences and wont stop buying them. Really, you'll never be able to get rid of pirated movies.

What about cutting off the hands of those who create bootlegs?

...what? Just sayin'....

1) Make better movies.
2) Lower theater prices.
3) Sell theatrical films on pay-per-view on the very same day as their release... for an exorbitant fee (say, $50-60 bucks a view?) so that people will have even EASIER access than a bootleg, but the money will go straight to your pocket.

First off why $50-$60?

Secondly, that option would make things worse.

If the movies were on PPV the very same day, people would buy it, record it on TV and have PERFECT quality, and then sell those copies to the masses.

That would only make things worse, way worse because then you'd have bootleg recorded copies in great quality straight from the tv.

Imo, if they wanna stop bootlegs there a couple things they need to do.
1. Lower the freakin prices of Dvd's at least by a 3-4 bucks.

2. Stop with the multiple release of same movie: special edition, directors cut,un-cut. Put everything and anything u have on the first dvd release, stop this crap of 100 different versions of the movie.
*ya,people shouldn't buy,but studios shouldnt try to gouge people neither.
3. Movies that been released for over a year definately need price reduction especially box-sets.
Far as lowering movie prices, ehhh I wouldnt mind seeing it lowered some, but rather see dvd prices droped. Studios cry foul when people 'bootleg' movies, but its okay to gouge the general public.
