I've seen the first four episodes. The show is alright so but I don' see it getting another season.

Reminds me of Netflix recent show OA and Flight Of The Navigator a little bit.

One thing I dislike is [blackout]the typical reluctant lead hero archetype. You know he is going to embrace his powers eventually and all the fighting his destiny stuff is just there to create not particularly interesting drama which really isn't needed as there is more compelling ways to propel the narrative.

I also generally dislike heroes who bury their heads in the sand while innocent people are killed by villains they could stop. Being selfless is usually a heroic trait but heroes in stories that just care about their own lives come across as self centered and not particularly heroic. [/blackout]

Tim Kring is only exec producing the show. Adam Nussdorf who was a writer on the Tron Uprising animated series for Disney is Beyond's head writer and creator.

Finished the first season. Overall the show was alright.

Only watched the first two that aired last night (don't understand the temptation to stream an entire season AND air it normally both at the same time), but I thought it was pretty good.
