The Dark Knight Biggest Disappointment

oh and bales batman voice got really bad, i liked it in begins but this time it was just him slurring words together and i coulndt understand his speech at the end to the joker

Notice how he had a lisp in two or three bits when he was doing the raspy Batman voice... Kinda took me out a bit and I kinda chuckled at it because I was supposed to be taking him seriously.

The Death of Two Face. If he is dead.

Not the fact that he dies but How he died. Falling (Just like Tommy Lee Jones) and falling not that far.

He said he wouldn't work there while the machine was still there. It was destroyed.

Bruce told him to type in his name when he was done. Didn't you get the memo?

I remember Bruce saying that, but Lucius didn't know what would happen, right? He was still planning on resigning, right?

How far do you think you need to fall with a 180 pound plus man on top of you? He landed flat on the back of his head.

Yes, he was planning on resigning. But that's not why he typed in his name.

Did you miss him smiling as he walked away during the self destruction?

That hokey speech Gordon gave at the end of the movie. His family was just held captive by a guy with half a face and he stops to give a soliloquy on Gotham's fate?

Fox didn't know what would happen when he typed in his name, but was smiling as he walked away, he knew the machine was destroyed and that Bruce wasnt planning on using that power anymore.

More like about the man that just saved his son's life.

Well its certainly not the biggest disappointment but I still feel in a way it is: the Joker's origin. That's the only thing I have always hated about the character, he feels bland. The only reason I liked him was because he was humorously chaotic. His lack of definite origin may give him a mysterious aura, but he comes as nothing more than chaos personified. But suffice to say, this movie 'deepened' my appreciation for the character. Besides all the that, the movie was perfect.

And applauds to Mr. Ledger for superb and most haunting portrayal of Joker. (RIP).

My only real disappointment was that they changed the look of Wayne Enterprises, I prefer the BB version.

how can you be bland and humorously chaotic at the same time?

That two-face died.
Prior to seeing the movie I was actually of the mind that offing (or otherwise wrapping up Two-Face's story) in TDK was what I would prefer. But after seeing it, I'm torn. I think that we got such great development of DENT but that post-scarring things started to rush for his arc and it felt a little incomplete. Idunno. Maybe I'm just sad he died. I love Aaron Eckhart.

My only disappointment is that there's no f***ing way they can top this s***.

No Fallafel Carts.............anywhere!!!!!!

Agreed!

I'll list a few disappointments I had.

1. Batman's voice. I liked it in BB for the most part but aside from a couple of lines/scenes he overdid it.

2. Didn't even realize it until other posters brought it up but I think it sucks that some of the great Joker laughs we heard in the trailers didn't make it in the final cut.

Although I do remember in one of Nolan's earliest interviews about the film and Joker before we even got any pics of the Joker, he had said they were going to make it more about his eyes than his laugh. Still would have been nice to have him laugh a bit more.

3. This kind of goes along with number 2. I am still surprised and confused when it came to theediting of Heath's lines/delivery into the film that they chose some of the weaker ones from the TV spots over the ones from the trailers...which I thought were a lot better.

4. I can't remember the interview but it was fairly recent. It was with someone from WB I believe. They were asked about extras and deleted scenes for the DVD and they answered saying there probably won't be any since Chris as most of us know doesn't include them.

Nolan may say there were none for BB and that he only films what they are going to use but I call BS on that...especially this time since we have proof of scenes and whatnot that were in trailers/TV spots but not in the film.

I don't think there will be a Director's Cut knowing Nolan...but I wouldn't mind a studio extended one instead.

Yes. :(

However, someone said there might be 30 minutes of extra footage on DVD...is that true? If so, we'll get a little more.
Why the **** does every thread have to have some whiney ass remark about ledger being dead?

He's ****ing dead.

Get over it already

To the OP, I thought The Joker's laugh was fine, and I thought they used it just enough. It would've been worse to use it too much than too little. As far as my biggest disappointment(s), it would have to be some of the outlandish technology Batman uses (especially towards the end of the film), and the fact that Two Face apparently dies.
