also they didnt kill off the Joker so now I'm worried they're gonna try to replace him. I mean it's obviously no big thing for him to break out of prison or probably Arkham.

Yeah. When people raved about Batman Begins being high art, and so much better than any comic before it...I went and saw it. And while I liked it, I thought it was firmly in league with like Spider-Man 2 and X-2; it was a great superhero movie, and nothing more.

So when the hype came calling again and treating this movie like it was the best thing since sliced bread, I had MAJOR doubts. I thought it was going to be another "very good" film that was mistaken for high art by fans who think everything is better when it's "dark."

The Dark Knight however, lived upto it's hype 100% for me. Other than the batman voice, which occasionally got too craptastic for me, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. It was great. The first comic book movie since at least Batman Begins, maybe since Spider-Man 2, where I could not think of a way I'd improve the movie.

1. Scarecrow not being given a bigger part. He and Joker could've worked together on making a nerve gas or "Joker's laughing gas" using Crane's fear-serum. No longer a hallucigen where people fantasize their own fears and nightmares, it'd be a nerve agent that cause the person to laugh to death giving them a perma-smile.

I know this would be too farfetched for Nolan and I didn't mind too much Joker painting his dead victims white and smearing lipstick on them.

And Crow could've sprayed him, Joker just laughs it off as usual, and beats him to death with a crowbar.

2. Dent dying. I understand his little "fall from grace" but there was so much potential for him. Maybe he'll come back, maybe not, if not oh well...but a minor disappointment.

3. Lucius resigning from Wayne Enterprises. How's Bruce going to get his Q-gadgets now?

That batman was able to get human fingerprints off a bullet by comparing the bullet hole sample against other bullet holes. Sure you could find which type of gun was used, but fingerprints? Seriously implausible.

But I still loved it.

The biggest disappointment for me was seeing the tumbler get blown up. I saw the car up close at the NYC licensing show when they were promoting begins, and i immediately fell in love with it. i guess they could always rebuild it since they have the blueprints, but i didnt want to see it go

Bale's voice was great. "Im not wearing Hockey Pads" and his speech at the end = brilliant!!!

My only complaint would have to be that it ended also!

I don't think he resigned. Batman had the sonar thing destroyed at the end, so it was acceptable to Fox.

see i never liked the deeper voice even in begins... but i understand he does it to mask his voice..
but do you know how hard it is for bale to even do that..i mean he has a pretty thick welch accent and to go from a welch accent to american to a "deep" american accent to sound intimidating.

i dont think he did he said "as long as this machine is here i wont be" or something to that effect, and when he typed in his name the machine broke itself....also that was the part of gordons voice over where he says "people need their faith rewarded"

Fox walked away smiling, knowing that batman didnt care about the power he had from the machine since he was able to destroy it

Did lucius resign? My understanding was that he would resign IF that machine stayed active. His password triggered a self destruct sequence so he doesn't need to resign. Wasn't that why he was smiling?

I understood why Fox resigned, but it did upset me.

I was under the impression he didn't actually resign, because didn't the machine self-destruct at the end, and Fox stated that he would resign as long as the machine was at Wayne Enterprises. Since the machine is no longer there he doesn't have to resign. Maybe not though.


I didn't have any disappointments. The only thing is that I unfortunately knew too much about the plot line and so there really weren't any surprises for me.

yea just 5 minutes of Scarecrow was sort of a cop out but atleast they didn't just completely forget about him. His bring down at the beginning of the movie was a great way to close the door on BB and its other main villain, so we can officially begin our new chapter!
