Jennifer Lawrence as Black Cat??
It's just a suggestion

What do you think??

I don't know who Jennifer Lawrence is, but I like Black Cat and I think it might be cool to have her in one of the movies.

I'd love to see Black cat in this series. Bring in a little sex appeal. :cwink:

No Black Cat for the sequel. Or any future Spidey films.

Because Spider-Man doesn't need a partner or anything(a huge flaw in Spider-Man 3 with Peter needing help against Sandman and Venom which is stupid since he can practically take on the Sinister Six in the comics). And Black Cat being a villain would just be silly. I much prefer if they stay away from BC as much as they possibly can.

Spider-Man 3 had much, much bigger problems than that (things like Sandman killing Uncle Ben, underdeveloped villains, et cetera.), but I'm fine with him having a relationship with another crime-fighter. What's so silly about Black Cat as a villain?

Too much like Catwoman? Lol.

I'm just not a fan of Spidey having to team up with anyone. It's fine with comics and cartoons, but these series of films should only be about Spider-Man and him doing a solo act.

I disagree. While she does have some similarities to Catwoman, most are either sort of basic and/or coincidental or Black Cat did first. In what ways are saying that she is too much like Catwoman?

Any reason that it doesn't work in film as opposed to the comics?

Black Cat was created thirty years after Catwoman, and BC was first called The Cat, lol. Knock-off right there, imo.

I think she works better in comics or on a cartoon because, like I said, Spidey working with others on those platforms are fine, but he should be solo on film unless he makes it into an Avengers film. And plus, Black Cat as a villain...Vulture would be a better foe.

A similar motif does not a knock-off make. That's a bit like saying that Nite-Owl (of WATCHMEN) is a knock-off of Owlman because they both have an owl-motif. Also, while Black Cat did come thirty-nine years after Catwoman, many of the things that are considered to make her a knock-off she did before Catwoman did. They are similar, but that doesn't mean that you've got a knock off. Black Cat can be her
Black Cat was actually conceived of as a Spider-Woman villainess by Marv Wolfman, but he never got to use her there. I really think that if she had been used as such, practically no one would accuse her of being a Catwoman knockoff.

Black Cat could be a fine villainess. Black Cat and Vulture were due to be in Spider-Man 4, I preferred Black Cat by far over Vulture. I just don't give a crap about Vulture. He just comes off as some old dude dressed up as a green (except for the Marvel Knights costume, which was black) Vulture for some odd reason.

You mean Vulturess? Lol.

I don't care about what info you got of BC or anything, she's just an awful character in my opinion.

The Vultress thing was ******ed, but I heard that was Sony's idea, not Sam Raimi's. I seriously don't know what they were smoking.

I think Black Cat she's somewhat underrated as a character. Vulture, on the other hand, is just boring to me.

See, it's hard to say it wasn't Raimi's idea mostly because the stuff I've read, it came from pro-Raimi fans, and of course they'll stick up on his side, so it's something I just don't know who thought of that idea.

But, I feel the same way with Black Cat as I do with Catwoman, and it kinda doubles with BC because she's always shown as just this sexual object in a way and at least Nolan plans on covering up Catwoman and making her a person with an actual storyline than what we've seen of BC recently in comics and video games.

I think it would be Sony's idea, since he intended to put Black Cat in Spider-Man 2, and I heard nothing of him trying to change her Black Cat identity into something else. Regardless of whose idea it was, it was a ******ed one. If you don't want to use Black Cat, then why use Felicia Hardy? Ironically, Felicia was set to be played by Anne Hathaway, who is now playing Catwoman.

Doesn't mean that the movie would do the same thing. If it were Michael Bay directing, then I would worry that Black Cat would just be a sex object. But Sam Raimi is a better filmmaker than that. He would do something more with the character.

Furthermore, traditionally Catwoman has been more covered up than Black Cat.

Nolan covering up Catwoman is not that new.

I think this one's not too sexually objectifying:

I think it would work well, with a more black and less blue color, and perhaps black gloves and boots.

Black Cat would work in this new series,I think. If they're going for a more gritty, less campy look. I think that Spidey would remain a lone hero with her in the mix,but she could really bring out Spidey's more fun and dangerous side. I'd actually love to see her and the symbiote in the third Spidey flick in this franchise. I like the way it was portrayed in SSM toon. Both the Cat and the symbiote bring out Spidey's dark side and that would be fun to see.

That sounds interesting. Kind of sounds like I think Spider-Man 3 should have been, with Black Cat in lieu of both Gwen Stacy and Sandman.

Man, Spider-Man 2 would have been as bad as a cluster**** as Spider-Man 3 would've been if Raimi kept his original ideas, haha. He wanted Doc Ock, but then also wanted Black Cat and then Lizard.

I mention how Hathaway was meant to just be Felicia Hardy/Toomes is because in Spider-Man 4, Spidey would have killed Vulture and that would set film number five because once Raimi wanted to film the movies back-to-back, which would set up Vulturess; so that's one reason why I can't say Sony thought of the idea of Vulturess.

Nolan covering up Catwoman is not that new.

I'm not saying Nolan is on new territory by covering up Catwoman, but it's refreshing to know that SOMEONE seems to want to cover her up as much as Burton did, imo, and with how Black Cat is portrayed lately, it just seems we we would see her in skimpy leather unless Webb isn't a perv, haha.

Actually, a dark blue would be fine instead of just jet black, imo.

And this looks a LOT like Anne Hathaway.

My point was that when he was planning on incorporating her into the story, he wasn't going to change her identity.

Ok, it's still a ******ed idea that makes no sense. Why would Raimi not want use Felicia as Black Cat?

I agree. Sometimes I think the skimpiness is overdone, such as in Clayton Crain's artwork for Venom vs Carnage, but I don't think it would be taken that far in a film.

Well, the character is named "Black Cat", not "Blue Cat". The suit is black, not blue. I've seen black cats, but I have never seen a blue one. It's like when Catwoman is wearing purple or Batman is colored blue, it doesn't make any sense to me. Why should it be blue?

And this looks a LOT like Anne Hathaway.

Really? I don't see the resemblance.

My point was that when he was planning on incorporating her into the story, he wasn't going to change her identity.

No, but his intention was to also bring in a new girl for Peter...but with us having MJ and Gwen already, Felicia wasn't going to be used as "another girl" for Peter, but instead someone new, thus bringing in her as someone's daughter with no relations to Peter at all.

Ok, it's still a ******ed idea that makes no sense. Why would Raimi not want use Felicia as Black Cat?

Don't ask me, I don't know...instead of having that idea for Black Cat, he should've used that scheme on Venom and kept Venom for the fourth installment. I would probably guarantee that we'd be getting a Spider-Man 4 with Venom if Raimi just eased out the symbiote story a little more and kept Sandman and maybe "New Goblin", or he could've used Vulture instead and gave him a better and easier story arc.

Like I said, I hope not. That skankyness is also used in Spider-Man: Edge of Time and it's pretty disgusting. Even more so when you read posts of "fans" saying how they like her boobs and what not.

Well, her name was firstly The Cat anyways, and just because she has Black in the title doesn't make it so that she needs to be wearing a black suit. She belongs in the night as a thief and that's why the 'Black' is involved. But with a dark blue suit, that wouldn't take away any credit from her name at all. You're thinking too much into it that she HAS to wear a color that's attached to her name.

Is Iron Man's suit made out of iron? :cwink:

Really? I don't see the resemblance.

That drawing's face looks a lot like this, yes it does

Raimi wasn't interested in using Venom or the symbiote storyline at all, to my knowledge.

True, but I prefer black to blue in this case. The black works much better in my opinion.

I've never noticed it before. The concept art piece was for Spider-Man 2 so it was way before Anne Hathaway was even being thought of for the role. I find it ironic that now she is going to be playing Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

Lol...for Spider-Man 2, we'd be getting as much of Felicia Hardy as we would've gotten Black Cat, but Felicia would've been the "other girl" and now that we have Gwen, Sony or Raimi or both or whoever wanted to use Felicia a different way and that's where Felicia Toomes came about. She wasn't going to be another girl for Peter to fall for or anything.

Raimi wasn't interested in using Venom or the symbiote storyline at all, to my knowledge.

Raimi already said okay to using the symbiote and Venom anyways, so it would've been much better to spread the story out to two films.

True, but I prefer black to blue in this case. The black works much better in my opinion.

To each his own. I myself wouldn't care what color, but a dark blue would have been just as fine.

That is very weird if that drawing was for Spider-Man 2 and it looking exactly like Anne, lol.

And yes, it is ironic that Hathaway is playing Catwoman, and under Nolan, imo, I bet Hathaway would appreciate this way more than being in what would've been a film that could be compared to Batman & Robin(Spider-Man 4).
