After watching Black Panther on opening night I realized something that the character of The Black Panther well King T'Challa the argument could be made or the comparison could be made with another popular character...Simba of the Lion King. Am I right or am I wrong in saying that there aren't parallels there?

The main parallel I noticed was between the press conference revealing Wakanda ending and the Iron Man ending of Tony telling the world he's Iron Man.

ironically in that comparison wouldn't Killmonger be more like Simba?

In addition to similarities to The Lion King, you could also find parallels and similarities in the Black Panther story to some of Shakespeare's history plays, specifically Henry IV Parts 1-2 and Henry V. Those plays share with the Black Panther movie an emphasis on fathers and sons and the conflicting goals between them.

Aloha,
I'm hearing several reviewers bring up the Lion King parallels so you may just be onto something there. Enjoyed the movie. PLan to see it again.
Long Live the King

Definitely a bit of othello and a lot of Barack Obama.

heard an odd comparison the other day, with someone claiming a parallel to spider-man 3?...

the best I can figure is that they meant how they both fought each other in a similar customs in the end (like how they made the venom suit more similar to spidey's suit)

could anyone else see that or elaborate more on any parallels between the 2? I am kinda at a loss

I feel like he's Barack Obama. I wouldn't call Killmonger a hero either but he tried to do more for people oppressed than T'Challa did. And it breaks my heart to say so.

Killmonger reminded me a lot of Vladimir Lenin in a lot of ways.
