Hi all, ( i am Halo10, my first of many posts to come)
for a black superhero action (Wil Smith's " Hancock" not withstanding) i think you would want to go with the most likely
to hit it big at the box office, thus go far the more popular black superhero
characters. Blade along with the Black Panther come to mind as the more popular black superheroes, and i really think Panther would be
your best bet. Could you include him in the next Avengers film and
then test your spinoff of him ?
There's been Luke Cage-Powerman whispers but i really don't think he's akiller draw for a featured film. His comics were a modest draw but not
a blockbuster hit. Didn't Marvel eventually team him up with Iron Man
to try to increase his popularity.
Although he was displayed by actor Michael Jai White, i don't really consider Spawn a black superhero movie at all.
Sure there's the Falcon who teamed up with Captain America, but
he's certainly not popular enough to star in his own featured film.
You could do a Green Lantern reboot of Green Lantern featuring
Jon Stewart who is a black ex-Marine. i don't think Justice League's Black Vulcan is a good idea. ( although he was one of my favorites in Challenge of the Superfriends)
It was once rumored quite awhile back that the Black Panther was being worked on for a future film and Wesley Snipes would have likely been dubbed for it. At the time Snipes was too tied in with his Blade movies ( love the first two- but really disappointed in the final one, "Trinity)
but if Black Panther is featured in either one of the upcoming Avengers films, ..or brilliantly included in a Captain America film to test a castoff.
Storm is a very popular blackheroine but i think she best belongs to the
Xmen films for now.
