Black Superheroes Movies - Part 2

I'm watching Blade: Trinity right now, and you can really tell that Snipes and Kristofferson weren't feeling their lines. I'd love it if they got one more movie with a good director that focuses on them.

It sucks a little to see how much Goyer put into The Dark Knight Rises as a concluding chapter and couldn't do something similar with Blade Trinity. I know he's not a director of Nolan's caliber, but the story could've at least been better and more satisfying to Blade's fans.

Goyer needs someone edit his work. When he has great directors like Christopher Nolan or Guillermo Del Toro to tell him what parts of the script to cut, tone down, play up,ect his fine but leave him on his own and you get rubbish like Blade: Trinity and The Unborn.

Goyer is a story man. The DK Trilogy is Nolan's baby, but the story needed to be set up, hence Goyer. But screenplays are not really his best work.

I'd like to see Wesley get another crack since Goyer got a few more after that Trinity debacle. If he could get another crack at it then it's hard not to justify Snipes getting another go. Even if it's not a 4th movie after a really king hiatus I want to see something done with the property. There are still some good Blade stories to be told on screen.

Hi all, ( i am Halo10, my first of many posts to come)

for a black superhero action (Wil Smith's " Hancock" not withstanding) i think you would want to go with the most likely
to hit it big at the box office, thus go far the more popular black superhero
characters. Blade along with the Black Panther come to mind as the more popular black superheroes, and i really think Panther would be
your best bet. Could you include him in the next Avengers film and
then test your spinoff of him ?

There's been Luke Cage-Powerman whispers but i really don't think he's akiller draw for a featured film. His comics were a modest draw but not
a blockbuster hit. Didn't Marvel eventually team him up with Iron Man
to try to increase his popularity.
Although he was displayed by actor Michael Jai White, i don't really consider Spawn a black superhero movie at all.

Sure there's the Falcon who teamed up with Captain America, but
he's certainly not popular enough to star in his own featured film.

You could do a Green Lantern reboot of Green Lantern featuring
Jon Stewart who is a black ex-Marine. i don't think Justice League's Black Vulcan is a good idea. ( although he was one of my favorites in Challenge of the Superfriends)

It was once rumored quite awhile back that the Black Panther was being worked on for a future film and Wesley Snipes would have likely been dubbed for it. At the time Snipes was too tied in with his Blade movies ( love the first two- but really disappointed in the final one, "Trinity)
but if Black Panther is featured in either one of the upcoming Avengers films, ..or brilliantly included in a Captain America film to test a castoff.

Storm is a very popular blackheroine but i think she best belongs to the
Xmen films for now.

Don't forget Cloak from Cloak & Dagger. Though he may look a bit too much like Spawn for some folks.

Bad news gang my ex-agent(Ex-agent because he messed this up) screwed up the chance for me to write Luke Cage. So after I calm down in a few days I'll post my ideas.

I'm sorry, man. What happened?

I really want to see John Stewart on screen. Its been too long since DC has had a black superhero on film... the last one was Shaq as Steel ahahaha.

Static Shock is deserving of a movie too. Hes like a more PC version of Black Lightning ahahah.

I think John Stewart would be a smart move for the Justice League movie. He's a great character and it would help WB distance themselves from Ryan Reynolds.

Static Shock is probably our best bet for getting a black solo flick anywhere. He's got the appeal from the past cartoon, a lot of kids know him he kind has that quote unquote "Will Smith appeal."

Isn't Static Shock owned by WB though?

I don't see them greenlighting a black solo superhero movie anytime soon when they struggle to get anything not named Batman or Superman off the ground.

I think Marvel Studios will put out a black solo movie before WB/DC does and it will probably be Black Panther.

Isn't Static Shock owned by WB though?

Well, dc (which is owned by wb) currently has the license to use the Milestone characters (they don't own Milestone) in comics, but I have no idea if that extends to movies too. But yeah, I'm not holding my breath for a Static movie...

I'll try to post my ideas on Luke Cage this weekend

John stewart is a good choice for the JL movie his appearance in Bruce Timms' JL and JLU has helped his popularity ten fold.

Btw Roach sorry to hear man.

On a side note I've created a black superhero that I plan on bringing to YouTube in a series of animated shorts. I hope everyone here subscribes I'll post a link when the first video is up

Luke Cage

So this was what I had during my first draft.
Carl Lucas was a young man with a good future. He played high school football and was accepted to Syracuse University on a full ride scholarship. The neighborhood was happy for him except for his friend Willis Stryker. The two were in a gang as youngsters. Carl discovered football but Willis kept running the streets. After a while Willis turned his ill gotten gains into a small record label. Willis went from street hood to record producer. He discovered a local girl with a good voice named Reva Connors. Willis wants her but after she meets Carl the two fall in love. They begin to date which infuriates Willis.
(At this point I am baseing Willis on P.Diddy/Suge Knight. Which explains the snake outfit which would fit in Diddy's closet)
Willis sets up Carl and he goes to prison. He loses everything. Scholarship, family, Reva...all gone. Carl starts off with 5 years but it increases to 10 after many fights and break out attempts.
Dr. Noah Burstein shows up at the prison looking to replicate the process that created Cap. He likes Carl for the process because he is in good shape. Carl doesnt accept but when Albert Rackham beats him to a pulp he agrees. Burstein tells the warden who demotes Rackham. During the experiment Rackham knocks out Noah and messes with the equipment in an attempt to kill Carl. The equipment explodes destroying the lab and throwing Carl out to sea.
Carl stumbles out of the ocean and runs into a KKK rally. (The experiment happens at a prison off the coast of Georgia)
The KKK members attempt to kill Carl but they can't. I wanted to play this scene for laughs as the KKK members shoot, hit and do everything in their power to kill the unconscious Carl. They shoot at Carl and the bullets ricochett and hit each other. Carl steals their truck and heads back to NY.
During a gas stop he saves a woman from being assaulted. She gives him 50$ and this gives him the idea to use his powers for money. At this moment the Avengers have beat the Chitauri and are the talk of the world. Carl sees the news report that we see at the end of Avengers and decides to become a super hero...for hire.

Willis Stryker

Willis while pretending to be a record producer is still messing with the gangs. He helps to wipe out a rival gang but in retaliation they go after him. Reva is caught in the crossfire and killed. The rival gang was being bankrolled by the Manfredi family. Joseph Manfredi visits Willis to threaten him but decide to work with him instead. At this point the events of the Avengers happen and several alien weaponry is left lying in the streets. Willis and his gang gather some weapons before shield can get them. ( At this point I had this idea before I even heard about the short film Marvel put out). Willis and his gang become the new power on the streets until Luke Cage arrives and tries to stop them.

more to come....
