Blade Trades

im a bit of a newbie here, but i was wondering what u guys thought about blade in terms of his comic book status because alot of my fellow comic book reading friends tell me that there aren't really any good trades available, i was wondering if any of u guys could enlighten me and tell me why that's possibly the case,or if u think my friends are talking rubbish and possibly be able to reccomend a trade to start with?
the reason why im so curious to know is that i think with a good writer blade could become a much better more well realised character instead of languishing in obscurity like he is now.

there really has never been anything approaching a "good" Blade comic, unfortunately

if you want to do some back issue shopping, track down an old Midnight Son's crossover called the Midnight Massacre, where Blade became this psycho killing machine, driven to destroy everything mystical or magical, and absorbing all the powers of those he dispatched along the way. It ran through:

Ghost Rider Vol. 2 #40
DarkHold #11
Morbius #12
Ghost Rider/Blaze: Spirits Of Vengeance #13

cheers friend, i'll have look see, what really annoys me is the way he has been handled by writers, it just seems as though they havent really even tried to find the true essence of what makes him blade

Marvel just doesn't like the guy...And for years Ghost Rider got the same treatment...Then Ennis got a hold of him and did the same thing he did for Punisher.

The same should be done for Blade. I'm sure his time will come. But right now it seems marvel has no idea what the hell to do with the guy.

You should check out the issue from The recent Marvel Tream Up series...I think it was issue #10 but I could be way off....anyway Blade Teamed up with the Punisher.

It was decent.

yeah, i definately liked the first movie, but the sequal wasa bit of a joke though. As for the third movie, well all i can say is that it was for me, a big let down,it seems to me that marvel intentionally **** on this character, when he could be so much better, i suppose they already have a big roster of popular characters but thats no excuse for the way i believe the character has been treated, which is pretty bad
