Bear with me on this one; it'll make sense when I'm done.
BLADE - Hero must stop his nemesis' plans to make all of humanity into his kind.

BLADE II - Hero must ally himself with his enemies to defeat a threat to both sides.

BLADE : TRINITY - While still dealing with the loss of his mentor, hero is called into action for what appears to be the final showdown, which only one species survives.

X-MEN - Heroes must stop nemesis' plans to make all of humanity into his kind.

X2 : X-MEN UNITED - Heroes must ally themselves with their enemies to defeat what proves to be a threat to both sides.

X3 - THE LAST STAND - While still dealing with the loss of their mentor, heroes are called into action for what appears to be the final showdown, where the survival of both species hangs in the balance.

Hmm, I never noticed that. Too bad X1 and 2 aren't nearly as good as the first two Blade movies.

BLADE - Awesome

BLADE II - Even Better

BLADE : TRINITY - Total suck

X-MEN - Awesome

X2 : X-MEN UNITED - Even Better

X3 - THE LAST STAND - Total suck?

jk, I liked X3, but you get my drift.

I Didn't Feel That Trinity Totally Sucked, But Was Just Put Together Badly.

There was very little to like about it, IMO.

lol. I'm a good sport about X3. I liked parts of it. Disliked other parts.

I won't hate anybody that rags on it.

My disappointment in X3 comes from the fact that it's the first comic I ever collected regularly. I've been a fan of the comics since I was 12. I also remember a friend letting me borrow the Dark Phoenix Saga trade when I was in high school, and loved it from start to finish. While I actually liked how it was re-imagined in the film, I didn't like that Wolverine pretty much supplanted Cyclops. But then again, the films have never really given him a fair shake.

My disappointment in Blade Trinity comes from the fact that I loved seeing a black comic book character brought to the big screen so effectively, as in the first film. But the third movie just seemed to forget everything the other movies did, and made Blade a background character in his own movie. And Dracula was punk b****! Nomak was more of a badass than him!

That's what happens when you start thinking spinoff when you're still working on the core series.
As for Wolverine supplanting Cyclops, you gotta remember that when it's all said & done, the goal is to sell tickets. That means you put the emphasis on the more popular character. And I keep wondering if Marsden asked to be killed off early so he could go do Superman.

Given the scope of the films (All three films basically ignored Cyclops) Its not surprising how it all went down in X3.

Again-sorry, but people don't really care about Cyclops. They never did. This is why a new X-team had to be introduced just to keep the book alive. Over the past 6 years, I've heard many people clamoring for Gambit & Nightcrawler, even Beast, & there are numerous threads devoted to Storm & Wolverine-but the people I've seen say "More Cyclops!" can be counted on one hand.

It's because he's usually not a very likable character.

Of course I feel the same way about Gambit most of the time and it's not uncommon that I feel that way about Wolverine.

Yes, But Wolverine Is The Original Bad@$$ & That's What Endears Him To The Majority.

And Gambit is the copycat replacement badass. :down

I also noticed that both Blade & the X-Men were being duped throughout the alliance in their second installments.

I've noticed this before CW but i never thought to post it, i severly dislike both B:T and X3 but love the 1st and especially second movies of each franchise.

Okay. That's... that's really interesting to know, Wallace. Kinda pointless. ;)

very similar....strong first movie, fun second one, sucky ass third

Welcome to the Hype! :p

This seems to occur a lot. Two superhero trilogies having similarities between them, that is.

Spider-Man/Superman: 1) Hero is created/introduced (this one's obvious), campy villain. 2) Hero temporarily loses power, more serious, threatening villain 3) Hero's mind is affected and turns bad. New love interest.

Small similarites that probably mean nothing, but intersting to note nonetheless.

I wouldn't count Webster's bimbo as a love interest, & we don't know what's gonna happen w/Gwen.
