Blatant racism on Holland talent show towards chinese man

I can't watch the video.
What were the racist remarks ?

Interesting that they showed the other guy telling him that what he said was messed up.

wow, using jokes to insult him... is insensitive and racist in my book.

Is this blowing up?

Usually, racism against Asians isn't jumped on by the media.

It's usually towards the end right after, dog who's bark sounds like "I love you."

First I've seen about it but it's barely been up two days so far for the media to even notice it yet.

Erz is right, it's not considered racist for attractive white people to make fun of Asians.

Especially Asian men.

Especially Asian men with glasses.

Especially Asian men with glasses and accents.

It's all in the American Modern Progressive Liberal's Official Guide to Allowable Racism. Look it up, it's in the section of Barnes and Noble where you can find Amy Tan novels and the original cast recording of Miss Saigon.

This happened in Holland though so it's less likely the American press will pick up on it unless it goes viral.

If it happened on American Idol, the American press won't pick it up.

I think they would but the backlash would be less severe. It's also okay to make fun of fat people or ugly people or people who are not in some way normal but that doesn't get much press either.

Several NFL stars including Dolphins Incognito is getting criticized because of the use of the N word in texts.

Patriots Gronkowski was at an event calling an Asian fan, Leslie Chow and making fried rice jokes and that was over a month ago? And that has not blown up at all. Backlash? Try nolash. :o

True, but it's egregious when there's a double standard to how different races are treated.

Racism against Orientals (yeah, I use that term, let's have that discussion too) is the only kind of racism that gets shrugged off, denied and even practiced by leftist progressives.

It went viral from an US bloggers.

From the article linked.

"The Dutch media didn't say a lot about it, until American bloggers started sharing the video and were apalled by the blatant racism."

At Philly's South Philadelphia High School, Asian students report that black students routinely pelt them with food and beat, punch and kick them in school hallways and bathrooms as they hurl racial epithets such as "Hey, Chinese!" and "Yo, Dragon Ball!" The Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund charged the School District of Philadelphia with "deliberate indifference" toward black victimization of Asian students.

In many of these brutal attacks, the news media make no mention of the race of the perpetrators. If it were white racist gangs randomly attacking blacks, the mainstream media would have no hesitation reporting the race of the perps. Editors for the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune admitted to deliberately censoring information about black crime for political reasons. Chicago Tribune Editor Gerould Kern recently said that the paper's reason for censorship was to "guard against subjecting an entire group of people to suspicion.
...

^^ Hate crimes committed by blacks against Asians is the most unreported plague across North American.

The Rodney King riots is the most egregious example.

The left/progressives/bleeding heart liberals are all the PC freaks. When did they all of a sudden become insensitive racists? They're usually the ones crying bloody murder over someone using a light stereotype when joking.

That's why it's a double standard. Leftist progressives are the self-annointed arbiters of what is racist or not, but are deafening in their silence whenever racist incidents or hate crimes happen to orientals (there is a reason I use this term in this context).

Here's a stark example: if Tookie Williams was a white supremacist who murdered an entire African American family, the leftists would not have protested his execution, and he would definitely not be an urban culture folk hero.

Ah ok. I should have known you were strictly talking about crimes/racism against Asians and not just racism overall.

The host should really apologize, and yeah, crimes agains asians aren't talked about enough.

To be honest, the jokes the host made don't really offend me. What offends me is that he couldn't make that joke about anybody else.

Ah Gordon...he's a clown, not a racist. That's just the way he is. He likes to joke about everything...even the fact that he's gay. I don't think he meant anything by it.

That kind of jokes can be seen as normal here in Holland.People here says stupid things like that to each other all the time, and it's not limited to just white people. You'd be hard pressed to find people that actually got REALLY offended by silly comments like that over here.

Yeah, I think Holland needs to be viewed in some perspective. Let's focus on Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet first, and then move on to other things.

I think that's some of our points. If Gordon made a joke about Blacks or even Jews, it would have already been viral. It's not even necessarily about Gordon but that Asian racism gets very little media attention.

At least in the United States, derogatory jokes about Asians (Howard Stern) don't get you in trouble like comments about say Blacks (Don Imus).

Stephen Colbert. :woot:

But the town I was born in even used to have this celebration too, because of its large Dutch community. Sadly, they came to the conclusion that they would rather cancel the entire celebration entirely than simply fix this one issue.
