Days of Future Past "BLINK and you might miss her!" - The Fan Bingbing Thread

Her eyes are stunning. They have her wearing colored contacts right? They're really effective.

Said it once and say it again, I love her!

Fan Bingbing is so coming back, I'm really positive! :hrt:

In China, DOFP added $7.48M from 3,460 screens to cross the $100M mark with $104.4M. It is now the 3rd highest grossing Fox title of all-time in the market, behind, natch, Avatar and Titanic.

Pretty solid showing to place behind Avatar and Titanic there. Not really sure what justifies Titanic being so high in China :funny:

For whatever reason, the Pacific Rim loves Titanic. I don't know why, but you see it everywhere when you travel to that part of the world. At first I though it was just that one place, but when I was seeing it all over in my travels...they just love, love that movie. And that C. Dion. song that goes with the movie. I heard more versions of it than I ever cared to hear in my whole life.

Please Singer bring back Fan Bingbing, I truly loved her in the movie. Though im certain he dosent read this.

If you have Twitter, you could sent that message to his Twitter account.

And if they bring Fan back, then they could do an OT movie :woot:

Found it on deviantart. I love Fan BingBlink :D

Blink should have opened a portal in such a way as to make a Sentinel stab itself in the ass.

I have been a fan of Fan since I saw her in the female lead role in the 2004 Chinese TV series "Heroic Legends". The production was then scolded for deviating too far away from the original book, but the cast was stuffed with many future stars in Chinese entertainment industry. It is now regarded as a classic.

Her first time portrayal of Lady Yang in the Tang Dynasty in a TV series in 2007 was no less memorable. Many said that she was too skinny to play Lady Yang, but that aside, she did a really good job portraying the young naive artist helplessly caught in a deadly web of politics.

She had a voracious appetite for roles in both TV and movies as she was moving up in the early to mid 2000's. Many were unfortunately garbage roles in garbage productions, but in my opinion most were made infinitely more watchable because of her presence. Of course there are gems too.

"Battle of the Warriors" (previously called "Battles of Wits") (2006) - an ancient war epic starring Andy Lau. Fan was in a supporting role.

"Lost in Beijing" (2007) - first of a trilogy with female director Li Yu. Fan played the female lead, and was in contention for best female actor in the 2007 Berlinale. The studio had to withdraw the movie in the final days of that festival because the version they had shown was not the version approved by the Chinese government. There were speculations that Fan would have won that award had they not withdrawn the movie. Li Yu later said that she owed Fan a trophy. As reprimand by the Chinese government, the producers, writers and director Li Yu were banned from making movies for 2 year in mainland China. Fortunately the actors were not punished.

"Wheat" (2009) - a movie by director He Ping in the Korusawa style. The subject matter was something rarely touched in any period war movies. The cinematography is outstanding.

"Sophie's Revenge" (2009) - a romantic comedy produced by and starring Ziyi Zhang, written and directed by Eva Jin. Zhang invited Fan on board to pay her nemesis and it was a blockbuster hit. However there was soon a fall out between these three. Jin wrote a second script and filmed it with Fan as the lead with the English title "One Night Surprise" (2013). Ziyi Zhang also produced and starred in her own sequel "My Lucky Star". Both "sequels" opened in China in 2013 one moth. Tabloids had a field day on the alleged rift between Fan and Zhang. To this day the net is still full of rabid fans from either camp attacking each other.

"Body Guards and Assassins" (2009) - in movie filled with testosterone, Fan's supporting role was used effectively as counter balance.

"East Wind, Rain" (2010) - a bloated and clumsy WWII spy movie directed by the self-important TV producer/director/actor Liu Yunlong. I had to include this one, because Fan was absolutely gorgeous in it.

"Buddha Mountain" (2010) - 2nd of the trilogy with director Li Yu, about displaced youths in China. Fan won best female actor in the Tokyo film festival. Li Yu said that she was happy to pay back her debt owed to Fan.

"Sacrifice" (2010) - directed by Chen Kaige of the "Farewell My Concubine" fame. Based on an ancient drama, Fan played a princess, but was only on screen for 15 minutes or so.

"Shaolin" (2011) - this one had some real Hong Kong heavyweights like Andy Lau, Jackie Chan and Nicholas Tse. Fan's supporting role was somewhat of a moral compass in this tale of morals.

"My Way" (2011) - a Korean WWII epic by Je-gyu Kang starring Dong-gun Jang and Jo Odagiri. Fan's role here is as short as Blink's, but she kicked ass nonetheless. Watch her stand off against a Soviet fighter plane.

"Double Exposure" (2012) - 3rd in the trilogy with Li Yu. This plays out pretty much like a solo act by Fan. Li faltered a little bit in this one, but it is still a memorable ride. It broke the Chinese box office record then for an art movie.

Movies stars usually do not impress me beyond what they achieve on screen. Fan is the exception. Back in 2004 I caught a CNN story reporting on the Chinese entertainment industry citing internal competition and discord. There was a clip of Fan being interviewed by the media, and she gave a really well thought out and positive answer while herself was under fire by the tabloids. That left me a really strong impression, when I found out she was barely in her 20's. She started her own charity project to help Tibetan children with their congenital heart diseases when the entire charity industry was criticized for false accounting and misused funds. She said that charity is not just about how much you spend, but really how much you do. The project has been a success bringing hundreds of young children to health.

During a time when the Chinese government is easing their grip on the press in the entertainment industry, some of then pointed their guns towards their own stars. They can be ruthless at times, and caused ceaseless turmoil for years. When Fan's mentor, the famed director Xie Jin died in 2008, she went to his funeral. I was shocked for find a series of photos taken during that event on the internet. They were hard to look at, because Fan was literally assaulted by a mob there with all heckling, touching and grabbing. I was ashamed by what was displayed by the public, and even though she was wearing shades, I felt her tears. Now wherever she goes, she is also greeted by mobs, but only now they are admiring and cheering for her. Well done Fan!

Sadly i dont have twitter. is there any way though that they can bring back Blink if its focusing on the FC team unless she gets lost in time.

If I was Blink in that final battle seeing Warpath, Colossus and Sunspot being killed, I would just been like..

Would have teleported the **** out of there.:o:funny: Props to her for staying and fighting for her people. Her last stand scene was great imo.:woot:

I wish Blink could make portals inside Sentinels so she could cut them in half. :D

I wish Blink could make portals inside Sentinels so she could cut them in half. :D

I was kind of expecting stuff like that, I mean, to see any mutant actually destroying one sentinel by himself, like Kitty, Blink or so. but in Blink case, she was just helping the others, instead of stoping one sentinel.

I think she could have done it, but oh well

She was partly doing that in the final battle when she was the last one left outside the temple. As the Sentinels started using their solar beams (or whatever they were) she used the portals to send the blasts back into themselves essentially destroying them, that was until the odds were way out of her favour (whilst everyone else chilled inside).

now that you say that, this came to mind:
what if Blink, rigth at the arrival of the sentinels ships, she used her portals to send the ships to another place?

Does she uses to do this type of stuff in the comics? I havent read any comic with her in yet
