The Dark Knight BOF: New TDK costume info coming

There is a thread over at the BOF Forums where Jett has given the forum members a heads up saying that there is "New TDK costume info coming".

Here is what he had to say.....

I got a bit of info on TDK costuming. I don't know if I'm going to be allowed to use this --depends on my sources. Security is tight, "they" check BOF quite a bit, and lots of stuff can be traced back to the source if leaked right now.

Anyway, I just wanted to give you BOF forumites a heads up. And don't ask me any questions as I can't say anything else right now. But you can certainly talk about this and speculate all you want!

Wasn't it around the first week of October when he stated that Dent had been cast and to check the trades anyday now(at that time) because the news will be reported there? I use to check out that site multiple times a day but I haven't been back since that "Dent has been cast" news.

Jett better start releasing news soon. The only "new stuff" we've gotten is Heath Ledger talking about the Joker and how he is going to play him and a new costume designer has come to design Batman's new threads.

My theory - the film doesn't just continue where BB left off - it goes beyond that (figure THAT out, if you like).

You ask me, Jett is covering enough of the media now to where he should just make BOF a "section" just like it is on the Hype. WB isn't going to leak **** this time after the costume/script fiasco, so we are in for a boring 2 years. His other coverage is interesting enough to where it would be a breath of fresh air for all.

What is the point of having website devoted to 'news' when you can't post the news you have?

Even if this "heads up" thing is true it's nothing that isn't going to be available to every other website once the story breaks... it's the same ole BOF thinks it knows what you don't know but just in case you heard it here first routine.

Tuesday, December 12, 2006 - 10:07 AM, 6:27 PM Not too long ago, BOF was told that the Bat-suit for TDK would be “sleeker” than its predecessor and show how Bruce would make advancements to his gear. Well, an insider is back to offer a bit more insight into The Batman’s new threads.

Our guy tells us to look for a suit that’s “athletic” and be more “fabricky” -- if I can use that as a description. There will still be an element of the sculpted “body armor” on the suit, so don’t expect something totally rubber-free.

My take is that the suit is not going to look drasticly different from the one seen in BATMAN BEGINS. But one would expect Bruce Wayne to tweek and improve the suit, so we'll see that in TDK. Now, as far as The Joker is concerned…

We know that Heath Ledger's portrayal will be nothing like we've seen before on screen -- i.e Cesar Romero and Jack Nicholson. Consequently, don't expect TDK's Joker to be "costumed" as we've seen in the past either. While he will still clearly look like and be The Joker, expect him to be "less cartoony," if you will. Our source told BOF, "[Since The Joker is] much more dark, sinister, and threatening [in TDK], his costume is very much going to reflect that."

Sounds good to me.

My only slight concern is them toning down the Joker too much.
