So, we’re starting to see more sci-fi films based on books coming out. We have The Host coming out and also Ender’s Game. I was curious if anyone knows of more sci-fi book to film’s that are being worked on?

I know Roland Emmerich was attached to Foundation not that long ago. A film adaptation that I expect to lead nowhere.

Emmerich and the Foundation equals terrible.

Emmerich may 'get' the book (like how many directors are 'fans' of a property i.e. Alien Vs. Predator 2) but he's too emotional immature to really understand it.

The Host and Enders game are far more part of the trend of young adult novels being adapted than a pattern for scifi adaptations in general.

Anyone who would truly "get" Foundation would be able to tell that perhaps a film wouldn't be the best way to go about adapting it.

Rama has been in development hell for many years now. Which is a shame because I would love to see that story brought to the screen.

A more faithful adaptations of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?".

Blade Runner is a great movie don't get me wrong but it has always felt very different form DADOES to me. The omission of the Mercer/Empathy Boxes subplot, Buster Friendly, mood organ and the in depth look at the artificial animals and their value to gauge ones place in the social ladder all made it for a less than satisfying adaption for me personally.

Also nothing in BR comes close in terms of intensity to that great part in the book where Decker is arrested and taken to an off branch police station where one of the most thrilling mind#$%* takes place.

I enjoy BR very much as a standalone sci fi film but it missed far too much for my taste for it to be considered a great adaptation of PKD work.

I'm stuck between a rock and hard place with this entire matter. Because I know Halycon/WB still want to do something again with the material. I'd love for Ridley Scott to give us his own interpretation of a sequel to Blade Runner but I'd also love a more accurate adaptation of DADOES by another talented director. I know the chances of getting both is essentially none. So it would have to be one or the other.
